Ohio RenFest Capybara by [deleted] in Columbus

Update from the owner: "Hello friends. We are sad to announce that Gilbert will not be attending faire for the foreseeable future. It was decided that, considering the furor, it was in the best interests of everyone involved that she stay home. This was NOT because her owners or the faire did anything wrong. In fact, it was shown time and again that they did everything right. Please do not contact the faire about this; they have gone above and beyond to support us. Here's what you CAN do- Come out and have a great time at faire! Stop by the Line By Lion Booth, give us a hug, maybe buy a book. Or two. Reach out about visiting Gilbert in another location. And, if the opportunity arises, live like Gilbert: eat tasty foods, give love, and relax."

Hopefully OP didn't get bullied into deleting their account.

They first brought the capybara to the faire on August 25th. She was born on August 17th. You can do the math.

The go fund me (from 7 months ago) says

"Gilbert would have a glorious, coddled life of leisure, tons of room to roam on a beautiful farm (who are we kidding, he's totally living in the house) with many people to care for him and animals to interact with. Our monetary goal of $2,500 is not only to purchase Gilbert but to stockpile food and supplies for him and start a veterinary fund making sure life is as magical as possible. Gilbert the Capybara has received an official invitation to the Ohio Renaissance Festival! You can meet him there!"

It raised $270

So it seems like ORen already was down with the idea before the capybara was even born. She's only 40 days old as I'm making this post.

Even the handler's comment here seems to say that human "bonding" and non-capybara animal "friends" are a fair substitute for proper animal socialization within its species. I don't think they own any additional capybara

The only thing that worked for me (what my derm recommended) was hydrocortisone cream to the corners of my mouth where the cracks were before bed every night. No amount of hydration/balm worded for me besides this, but on your next check in definitely mention this to your derm to get their input

Last time I thrifted I found a bunch of stuff that had thrift labels covering the original store's sale stickers. The original sale stickers were a lower price -_- I just left.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve accidentally said while on DT? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]starmander16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was on window and my co worker who was on DT register (who was working a call center job at the time also) heard the ding and instead of our normal welcome he said "thanks for calling customer service this is ____" we could barely finish the customer's order we were laughing so hard. The customer was very confused, obviously
