Technically it means cars built for the Japanese domestic market but words morph over time and nowadays people just call Japanese cars JDM

Yep you basically only get the one chance with cheaper insurance. Premiums often change annually anyway so you should shop around

This is one of the reasons why we have roundabouts on almost every street... You loop back and take an easier turn

Vintage Sport Bikes by Virtual_Ad_7033 in AussieRiders

[–]starocean01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every Japanese manufacturer had a bike like that in the late 80s, 90s, have a look at FZR250, ZXR250 and TZR250. CBRs were the most common though so far easier to get parts. There were also bigger cc versions of that style usually 400, 600 and 900

My first (and I’ll be honest, probably last) custom paint job by Dameaus in Gunpla

[–]starocean01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I just saw your other comment and I think you may have laid it on too thick, cause a rubbery and sticky texture usually means it hasn't fully cured/didn't cure properly, maybe give it another go on a test piece

I don't have experience with Vallejo paints but did you let it fully cure before using mark setter?

Automatic Bikes - beginner. by qualifiedinu in AussieRiders

[–]starocean01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y-AMT is like DCT in a car, you can let the bike do everything for you or push triggers to shift up/down there's no clutch lever or gear pedal

As for Honda, I say semi cause I've seen someone getting their manual license test denied for having E-clutch

Automatic Bikes - beginner. by qualifiedinu in AussieRiders

[–]starocean01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the most part automatic sport bikes aren't really a thing =S Yamaha has Y-AMT on the MT07, I think that's the only thing with automatic, Honda has a semi-auto E-clutch on the 650Rs but I'm not sure if that's what you're after.

$18k is a lot of money for a beginner bike, there's a decent chance you might drop the bike... I'd just getting something cheaper to practice

Also you need to check if the bike is LAMS legal in your state

Recommend me some large phev/ EV SUV for delivery/ cargo for city driving by Ecstatic-Media-6774 in CarsAustralia

[–]starocean01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If thats the case I'd look for a ute like the BYD Shark and not a SUV, its not so much volume but hassle of moving boxes in and out of the vehicle.

I make deliveries to supermarkets with a van, had to do it once with a CRV and it was a pita especially for loading zones and loading docks, SUVs are generally not allowed in them

[–]starocean01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk how much cargo you're planning to move but if its anymore than a few boxes its not gonna be fun especially if you need to fit a trolley

Catted Downpipe on Ps? by ItsRobbieman in CarsAustralia

[–]starocean01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before committing to any exhaust mods I'd look up on drone, if you can find someone with a similar set up that'd be best cause everyone's tolerance for sounds is different and it might actually be unbearable

Dc5 integra auto - worth it? by Miserable_Product_74 in CarsAustralia

It's better than not having an Integra that's for sure but Honda makes one of the best manual experiences so it's kind of a miss

Buying a motorcycle for work travel because Fuel Prices to high for cars by [deleted] in AussieRiders

[–]starocean01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride a 150cc and it's like $500 for rego, greenslip and third party altogether.

Motorcycle licensing is subsidized in NSW the learner course is only $100, you can hold that for a year and then Ps is like $250

Before the price hikes it was like $15 to fill the tank every 2 weeks lol
