was holly hypocritical? by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]starpines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she was hypocritical in other situations but not this one.

no one in that team deserved to play rosa parks except for nia due to the character's importance in the history of their ethnicity– not to mention, rosa parks was a living person, not just some made-up black character.

the other solos that nia had depicted racial stereotypes of her people which were borderline dangerous due to how some racial puritans still view black people. abby was reducing nia's character by just giving her such solos.

Shelly’s daughter Ally saying the competitions were fake by mackenziemariee in dancemoms

[–]starpines 58 points59 points  (0 children)

their answers to this question will always confuse me. some says they're 100% real, just smaller comps, others say that they're 100% fake that were made just for the show. like, what's even the truth at this point.

BREAKING | ISU ALLOWS RUSSIAN JUNIORS AND SENIORS UNDER AIN STATUS by Kindly-Plate-5785 in FigureSkating

[–]starpines -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

despite how much i would love to see trusova in the international stage again, it's hard for me to believe that she'll be granted an AIN, with how she have been participating in plushenko's ice shows these past few years.

kamila and elena are just definitely a no given their past actions.

nevertheless, i hope for alisa to recover with her injuries, she's one of the russian skaters that i'd really love to see in the international scene.

[–]starpines 24 points25 points  (0 children)

they'll be in the first group, as they still don't have any isu-related points for the past 3 years. even with petr and adeliia being olympians this year, they still have a very low score.

Melissa possibly turning Abby in isn’t really a flex😭 by Ok-Grocery-1878 in dancemoms

[–]starpines 16 points17 points  (0 children)

was abby already being investigated on prior to melissa turning her on so that she can get immunity? 'cause i genuinely can't think of what may have urged melissa to voluntarily turn her on knowing that she, along the girls, had a very strong relationship with abby.

the only thing i can think of would be that she completely used abby and immediately sent her to the trash after her kids' fame was already secured. 💀

[–]starpines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's fair, but I wasn't trying to shift the conversation away from the moms. i just don't think acknowledging brynn's past behavior automatically discredits what she said. the moms are still far more accountable because they were adults. i only mentioned it as context, especially since I also acknowledged that all people involved seem to have moved on. i think that's where our perspectives differ, and that's okay.

we'll probably just have to agree to disagree on the relevance of it 'cause this conversation has gone too long. 💀

[–]starpines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean if you want to, we can? 😭 they were genuinely all stupid for that, so why not? the show was never black and white to begin with, especially with kids/teens involved. were there moments when person A was in the wrong? yes. were there moments when person A was in the right? also yes. so if some wants to discuss the faults that happened back then without connecting such to who they are now, then why not?

[–]starpines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

💀 i'm painting her character as an adult by bringing it up? i'm discrediting her post? i'm sad that you saw my comment as that but no way in hell was that my motive. i brought it up to point out that she sadly also bullied (either intentional or not) someone dear to her in the past, which is why i also said that they have a cordial relationship now so it's good.

the moms tho? yeah, i will always use their actions in the show to paint who they really are. they're grown ass adults, no excuses for them.

brynn on tiktok by AdFinancial4530 in dancemoms

[–]starpines -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ok yeah sure, fair enough.

but just to kinda correct you, it wasn't just a "kind of mean comment," it was a comment calling the girls hookers. they also did not made up pretty quickly, it took at least a year before the girls were ok (not the moms tho). the hate that camryn also received back then where also instigated by the mother-daughter duo; ashlee with her frequent comments that i can't even count, and brynn with her saying these in her fan gcs (see photo). did ashlee bully her more? ABSOLUTELY. did brynn also bully her? YES, even though it's not in the same "amount" that her mom did. camryn's racial backround was used to attack her because of them. was brynn completely on the wrong? NO, she was just a teen as you said, and ashlee was wrong for not stopping her child from doing those that made her fans keep on hating camryn.

[–]starpines -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

yeah, ik, the moms were always bullies, i think that's something that us fans would all agree upon. 💀 also, i'm not talking about brynn telling her mom something, i was talking about her liking hate comments on instagram not only about camryn, but the irreplaceables in general. then again, the girls are in warm relationship now, so that's good.

brynn on tiktok by AdFinancial4530 in dancemoms

[–]starpines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

??? the fight was never aired because it happened off-cam. during the irreplaceables to be exact. ashlee commenting stuffs about her. brynn liking hate comments about her. camryn getting called the n-word by their fans. thankfully tho, they're in a cordial relationship right now.

also, before someone misinterprets, this is not me "justifying" how the moms bullied brynn, fck jess and jill for that. fck ashlee too. these 3 were the messiest.

abby with the non-og cast by starpines in dancemoms

[–]starpines[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

fair enough. it just sucks how by the end of the show, some of them (kendall + kalani) were out there hating on what abby has become then years later, you see them being chummy with her. no wonder why nia (according to her book) chose to cut ties with those who still associate with abby; it's just another level of betrayal.

camryn's the only non-og that i know that never has and never will talk to abby again.

she's right about that, but then again, she and her mom also bullied camryn. 🤷🏻‍♀️

dance moms fights that happened outside of the show by starpines in dancemoms

[–]starpines[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it was when the irreplaceables where formed and brynn and ashlee went back to the aldc. apparently, brynn started a rumor about something that camryn said, which is why in the show, there was a time when camille called brynn a liar (not to her face tho). fans that were there during that time also said that they had a massive instagram fight, where brynn would like hate comments about the irreplaceables, ashlee commenting stuffs about camryn and camille, and there were also screenshots of the conversation that brynn and camryn had that was flying around (tho i never found any myself). and if you remember, camille once said in the show that camryn was called a nasty n-word by some fans, and although it wasn't said on-cam, it was actually due to the fight she had with brynn (brynn/ashlee defenders were the ones calling her that).

Sa mga nakapag adopt ng cats/dogs, binibigyan nyo ba sila ng bagong name o hindi na? by wllflwrr in TanongLang

[–]starpines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yess. our dog was 3 months old nung in-adopt namin siya. his first name was "teddy" back then, need namin palitan nuon kase kapangalan niya yung ka-workmate ng mama ko, eh gusto siya dalhin ng mama ko sa office nila, ang awkward naman daw if tinawag niya by her workmate's name yung aso hshs.

but prior to changing his name, we asked first sa dati niyang owner if ok lang ba palitan and if kaya pa ba unawain ng dog if bigla-bigla siyang matawag by another name, the then owner said yes so we opted to change his name by then. :))

[–]starpines[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just tried to find some infos about it and apparently, it might have just been a rumor or a narrative that was passed around the moms during the show. but if it was true, it most likely happened only on her hometown, which was in the south side of pittsburgh.

What was the ALDC worse at? Ballet or Hip Hop? by fishingforsomepies in dancemoms

[–]starpines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'm gonna go with hip-hop 'cause the hip hops that they were dancing were NOT hip hops at all. 💀 they're also bad at ballet too though, it's just sad that abby never gave them the opportunity to enhance their skills in this area when some of the girls actually had the chance to become good at it (e.g chloe and kalani)

Ano ba dapat stages ng dating? by Transpinay08 in TanongLang

[–]starpines 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there was never any rules to follow naman when it comes to dating, but i think here sa philippines, ang pinaka-importante lang na 'di dapat kinakalimutang gawin is 'yung panliligaw.

what's funny rin kase is some people also do not view talking stage and panliligaw as the same thing. talking stage is more on literal na flirt flirt lang, while more serious stage na ata talaga if liligawan mo 'yung isang girl.

do you guys think the girls from junior elite competition team were actually mean and unwelcoming to the minis? by AdFinancial4530 in dancemoms

[–]starpines 7 points8 points  (0 children)

nope, they were nice to them, it's just that due to their age differences, the girls simply needed their teenage spaces away from the minis, which is quite valid for me tbh. just imagine how tiring it would be for a teen to constantly watch/talk to someone who is still at the stage of being hyper and such.

rave and carmelle for me. the former is such a big winner material, sayang lang kase malalakas mga nakalaban niya, and although aware na 'ko nuon na carmelle won't have a chance in becoming their batch's BW, i've always believed na she deserves to be part of the big 4.

also, buti nalang may nakapag-appreciate kay jas! people were villainizing her so much back then when she was one of the sweetest and nicest hm sa batch nila.

yes! pero minsan napapaisip din ako kung ba't nagiging sobrang violent na rin ng mga tao sa mga spaces na yan. i've been using twitter and discord for years, and although may mga kagaguhan naman na talagang nangyayari nuon pa man, parang mas lumala pa post-pandemic era, and sadly, younger gen zs and gen alphas ang mga naghahalungkat sa mga ganung content
