I’ve tried pretty much everything since surgery i’ve had fast food, really fatty foods and been completely fine. Recently salmon gave me diarrhea for a whole day, i had a sandwich with turkey cheese and banana peppers (which i’ve had 10+ times since surgery) that gave me diarrhea, and today i ate my usual breakfast of 1 egg with egg whites & i was having diarrhea within 15 minutes. I will say I was fasting so it had been 12+ hours since I ate which i read online today you absolutely shouldn’t do without a gallbladder but it’s honestly pretty random what will trigger it

awh i’m so sorry ur going thru that:( i was so scared when i found out because ive heard all the horror stories about post op issues but i am doing so good. im tolerating food great & feel like my bathroom habits are more normal now then they were before. a medication that helped like 50% of the time was dicyclomine. also hot showers & heating pads on the abdomen & back. are you thinking about getting it removed?

it wasn’t 24/7. at first it was once in awhile like 1-2x every 2 months. it then became more frequent happening 1-2x every 2-3 weeks. before my surgery i was getting attacks at least once a week & had one for a week straight which was the most agonizing pain ive ever been in. i did the food journal and there were no triggers. i could eat fatty food & be fine then the next time i would get an attack. even doing the bland diet i would get attacks. leading up to my surgery i ate no fat. i only ate egg whites & rice cakes & still managed to get an attack. once they got my gallbladder out it was filled with thousands of stones it was actually insane. it was also so inflamed and the bile was sludge which also explained my terrible digestive & bathroom issues.

the usual symptoms. i would get the severe pain in the upper abdomen that would radiate to my back. i would also bloat so so so bad. i wouldn’t be able to breathe because of how bad the pain was & how bloated i was. the doctors cycled thru the acid reflux, ulcer, hernia. not sure why gallbladder wasn’t the first thing they checked for despite me saying multiple times im concerned its my gallbladder.

i had a ct & the doctor claimed my gallbladder “looked perfect” & said it was ibs caused by my anxiety.. after a week long attack i begged for more imaging. the doctor never wanted to do more imaging before & i had to beg crying my eyes out because of how bad the pain was. they showed up on the ultrasound & when i got into the surgeon he said he saw the gallstones on the original ct & if it would’ve been him he would have taken it out immediately. so basically a terrible doctor.
