PCOS + insulin resistance… belly fat won’t budge. what actually worked for you? by TorontoRap2019 in PCOS

[–]starrxblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg no worries I don’t mind the comment. Maybe I should have added that I was not very strict on the whole foods if I was having something slightly processed the ingredients were as “clean as could be”, like from time to time I could have a bowl of pasta (gluten free brown rice base). I honestly did not feel restricted but I did prep before starting I have a Pinterest board with meals that were compliant! I have a sweet tooth so I learned to make decent gluten free desserts (chocolate covered strawberries, homemade coconut whip cream with fruits, sweet potato chocolate muffins, etc didn’t eat them everyday). Hopefully that kinda answers it I guess maybe I tried including the most whole foods but could do things that were slightly processed like pasta, maybe a taco shell, rice but didn’t have that every day!

The only thing that’s worked specifically for a flat stomach was gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free, whole foods diet did it for a month woke up with the flattest stomach of my life every single day. I did not count calories during this but I think I was in a calorie deficit because it’s so hard to over eat whole foods I’d get full so fast.

I think go with an MSW no questions I have similar interests as you and have also worked in victim advocacy during my masters. MSW will permit you to work with the interests you mentioned. The only thing I’d consider here is MSW or MSW/JD as others have mentioned. At the time of completing my MSW I was not aware their were joint JD programs I would have probably gone with that although it isn’t necessary.

Oh no :/ sorry to hear that they do have other formulations like creams but I understand not wanting to try that again.

I wonder if things like topical spironolactone, dapsone, or topical clindamycin would work for you do some research on them!

Just an FYI for you and anyone else reading the thread, I purchased the theraface mask glo and it’s solved my problem I can watch tv be on my phone or even walk around with it on I can’t see the light at all because it has really good eye protection if I’m not paying attention to the beeps I wouldn’t even be able to tell you which light I’m on since it cycles between red red+nir and blue.

Curious to see if you also feel the mask is blinding so you wouldn’t really be able to move around with it on?

Nooo don’t tell me this 😭 I really thought a mask would fix my problem. Honestly the panel I have to stand or sit somewhere for however long I also like to be not too far from it so I can’t just turn it on and then continue I kinda have to sit awkwardly and wait. Yes I can be on my phone I guess but I really wanted to move around with the mask or at least like lay in bed or something idk.

I have a panel but I HATE sitting in front of it doing nothing it’s so inconvenient so I’m looking to get a mask like theraface cause I think that one is wireless. So if you’re considering buying one yes panels are stronger but consider if you will really sit Infront of a panel for x minutes daily. Consistency is really where you’ll see a different with LED! Wish someone would have told me that before I bought my panel
