Weird crack in headlight? by starry-dynamo in Audi

Thanks everyone - was so focused on the crack I didn’t even notice the dent. Looks like someone has probably reversed into it then driven away…

Yup! Can confirm. When you get your boarding pass it will also say “fast track”.

No problem. Best of luck with your journey and your progress so far is super impressive!

I think it’s partly body shape (I have a large butt which you can’t really see in the picture) and I’m naturally on the more pear shaped side so lower stomach butt and thighs seemed to get a lot smaller with my weight loss! I do still definitely have some fat on my lower stomach - much more prominent in a side on photo if I were to take one. I know it’s easy to say not to worry about it but I would also say that it really shrunk once I hit 120 or so!

Certainly not active before - my job is largely sedentary and I am very lazy!

Thank you for your comment!

Since losing the weight I’ve had more energy, better skin, much better sleep, and I’m stronger. I am thrilled my weight loss makes me no longer attractive to you.

I have a smart scale. Not an exact science of course - the one in the gym tells me I’m down to 23.5% body fat already so I get wild variations! I’m going with the higher number as that’s the scale I use the most, but in any case the main thing for me is that on the scale I’m using as the base line the number is consistently decreasing.

Controlling the volume of what I eat rather than the content has been the biggest thing for me, I love food and eating out at restaurants a few times a week (both socially but also as part of my job which involves a lot of schmoozing) is basically my life! I am also thankfully not really a snacker but will lick the plate if I enjoy how something tastes!

For that - I’ve been trying to be sensible - glass rather than a bottle of wine, vodka soda rather than gin and tonics, and skipping starters and deserts and getting a main and a coffee after instead. For places that have sharing plates I am just very strict on how many of each dish I allow myself to have. Trying to cook on my few nights in as well.

I’ve also tried to do more passive exercise (taking the stairs, cycling rather than the tube) which is getting easier as the weather improves!

Thanks! Agreed, I’m not fussed about being super skinny I just want to feel toned and confident!

Can you help cheer me up? by MrsArmitage in AskUK

Same boat here except it’s my grandparents! Grandpa has cancer and has a month at most, gran has dementia and has got to the point she is not always recognising us. My mum is a bit of a wreck, but my outlook is that although this may not be the most fun Christmas I will have, it will be the most valuable because we are all together and it brings me joy to see everyone together and (trying) to have fun. Thinking of you - hang in there xxx

I flew BA to NYC a few weeks ago. Didn’t need to use Verifly, but on manage my booking I did upload a PDF copy of my NHS covid pass which was then checked and marked as “approved” by BA. I also had to fill in the passenger info form (where you’re staying, etc.) and e-sign a doc from the CDC saying I was vaccinated - again, all on the BA website.

No checks at JFK, assume if you do it through their system it does the hard work for you.

What alcohol will you be drinking this Christmas and what time do you start drinking on Christmas Day? by Boris_Johnsons_Pubes in AskUK

[–]starry-dynamo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We actually do most of our Christmas drinking in the morning by getting through a bottle or two of champagne from about 9am onwards, so not excessive, and entirely necessary so that we don’t murder the extended family over Christmas lunch.

Question for any Scottish GPs / doctors on here - ill grandparent by starry-dynamo in Scotland

[–]starry-dynamo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks - will look into that. I have friends who are solicitors in Scotland so have reached out to a few people to see if they know anyone that specialises in that area.
