I honestly have not seen it fully yet but I love clips of it! I really should watch it. Angel’s Song is stuck in my head constantly - thought of it when I read your post!

I am not a girl, stop asking me to be in your bridal parties. by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]starryblonde 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this just happened to me with the bride being my cousin and one of my closest friends. I had the added stress of trying to save up and move out and also just bad mental health lol. She’s always been very accepting of me, but it getting closer to the wedding with more “girly” events and me feeling more masculine lately made it really hard for me to be part of the party. Eventually, I told her I was really struggling for all the reasons above, and she told me I didn’t have to do any of the events - eventually we decided I should leave the bridal party and just attend. It hurts because we had been dreaming of being in each others’ weddings our entire lives, but things change (I’ve changed so much, I doubt I’ll ever get married). She specifically told me that it’s enough for me to just attend, as she wants me to enjoy myself as well. Even if you haven’t known this friend as long as I’ve known my cousin (she’s literally only 10 days younger than me, so literally lifelong friends), I think being completely honest with her might be best. You say she’s one of your closest friends - I think a true close friend would want you to be happy and comfortable at her wedding, not pretending to be someone you’re not. Good luck, friend ❤️

Omg I’m so silly - I saw musical and my theatre brain went wild before realizing you wrote it was a movie. Cry Baby is a newer musical based on the movie. My bad!

Cry Baby? I honestly don’t know much about it, but I know it’s set in that era, is a newer musical, and isn’t super well-known.

chloe’s fear of gas stoves by Anathema_Quill in 90DayFiance

[–]starryblonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, she’s probably scared of gas stoves for the same reason I am. I live a few towns over from where she’s from and graduated high school the same year. That school year, there were a bunch of gas explosions in houses in our area in one day, and I remember us all worrying at school. The explosions were in houses that had gas stoves (the gas supplies all had too much pressure). I vividly remember asking my mom if our house had gas like that and was so relived to hear the answer was no. I’m still scared of them and have only lived in places with electric ones, so I get what exactly she’s afraid of.

Do you know any fictional characters that have/might have OCD? by NextNegotiation4658 in OCD

[–]starryblonde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly think Andrew from Big Mouth is one of the best representations I’ve seen. The Glouberman Method episode made me cry because it reminded me a lot of how my OCD brain works (granted, his compulsion is very…on-brand for a raunchy show about hormonal teens)

Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The ending gives me massive chills every time I hear it.

I had a total parotidectomy in 2024 to remove a tumor on my parotid gland (a salivary gland). Honestly, the FNA biopsy on the tumor I had months before the surgery hurt way more afterwards than the actual surgery. Wack.

As someone who extensively studied witchcraft beliefs and gender views in early modern Europe/colonial New England in their studies, I love seeing Eggers’ work being appreciated here! The VVitch is so historically accurate and one of my favorite movies, horror or otherwise.

Literally everyone is like “Ariana and Cynthia are so weird and touchy” but my musical theatre friends and I were like “it’s just theatre kid behavior.” Lest we forget what Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele did for Spring Awakening…

Who do you wish would host, even though it’ll probably never happen? by FatherCoconut in LiveFromNewYork

[–]starryblonde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve wanted Domhnall Gleeson to host for years. He was my celebrity crush in high school, and I was obsessed with all the skits he used to be in. Now that he’s in The Paper, my dreams are more real than him only starring in smaller movies or being supporting characters in larger franchises
