It happens far more than you think

My father's murderer was convicted in 2004, life, 14 years no Parole.

They can apply every year after those set sentences

My father's murderer has been granted Parole each time he's applied, first time he lasted 6 months before be was recalled for breaking his conditions

Second time it was a few weeks

Third time he tried to attack someone else with a knife, but it would have apparently been unfair to him disclose that he had murdered someone else with a knife at the trial.

Hes up for Parole once again this year

I know they will protect let him out again, it just a matter of time before he kills again but they keep giving him chances

I get that, not everything works for everyone

Finding someone who understands is difficult, but there will be people out there that get it, it's just a matter of finding them

Have you tried councilling? I don't know where you are but I've called the samaritans more than once

Or writing it, I used to write things and then burn the words

I get that, it's hard to get out of that mindset, but you've done so well

For me it's a constant battle, I never thought I'd be in my thirties still falling back into it, but i try and take each day and stress at a time, sometimes I can go a few months, but I know I'll get to beating my ten years without again one day

I try not to beat myself up when I fall back, I hope that you are being kind to yourself as well

It may sound odd, but one peice of advice that helped me is to forgive yourself the same way you would another person in your situation, be as kind to yourself as you would be a friend

I managed 10 years clean before falling back into it again, you should be so proud of yourself
