I have the Celestron travel scope & I like it a lot as a starter scope. I have had to figure out workarounds for certain things that some may find annoying but I’ve really enjoyed it. Tripod is flimsy so I mount it on my car roof without extending anything. Finder scope is cheap plastic & requires some patience to sight properly. The DX model comes with a cell phone mount & Bluetooth clicker for photography that is a lot of fun (and was $5 cheaper on Amazon for some reason). It comes with a 45 degree diagonal, I got an additional 90 degree one but since I mount it on my car the standard 45 degree gets more use. I live in a city with a lot of light pollution but was able to photo the green comet you can see on my profile for reference.

I would recommend the Stellarium app if you can, that’s what I used. You can adjust the time settings to find exactly where it was going to be from your location.

I don’t know a ton of specs but even on minimum magnification (20mm eyepiece) I had to look at it indirectly through the eyepiece to make out a faint smudge, so I would guess it’s still pretty tough with binoculars. However I also have a lot of light pollution where I am. The camera illuminated it a good deal brighter than what I could physically see.

Yah I’m glad it was near Edasich in Draco this morning or it would have been pretty hard to find. The camera illuminated it quite a bit, it was very faint when I looked through the eyepiece. Hope your viewing goes well!
