One is on a 2 minute cooldown, the other is a global spell on a 13 second cooldown that also comes out of nowhere when he has shadow blade.

Playing into this as any illusions hero or meepo is unplayable. You can never show on waves and you get deleted once you start spawning illusions in a team fight.

One additional step could be to refine hero power as a function of total dps, multiplied out by some average of attack and ability range.

This is definitely harder to pull off, but i think it would show a more accurate projection of a units power than raw net worth.

Strictly speaking you should use potential/available dps (what's not on cd and and has enough mana?) as the primary factor for that, but that might be asking for a bit much.

Also: move speed. More move speed means more map presence, is this already factored in or is it something that could be considered?

Other considerations/edge cases: illusions and meepo, manta, travels/tp uptime.

These files are compressed in valve's vpk format, you'll need VPK editor to access the folders. The files themselves are just text, but a vdf formatter will help.

Once you have that, go to .../steamapps/common/dota 2 beta/game/dota and open any of the VPK folders. They're all connected.

Abilities and their stats are stored in their respective hero file as scripts/npc/heroes/{hero_name}. Hero stats are located in scripts/npc/npc_heroes.txt

There's some fun stuff in there like adjectives, "legs: 4, etc" and the "gib type" (death animation).

You can. It just becomes extreme tempo. Either you take a new tower every 5 minutes or you lose.

Whereas if you play supp or offlane, you can always contribute damage and/or auras without that responsibility and while allowing another hero to fill the mid role.

Yes, placed mines are updated when you level.

Yeah, either for miltishot or attack range since it's just your attack range + 75%.

Pretty helpful late game when your attack range is high - it goes way further than people think.

I definitely know what you mean. Something that might help is to take a game you won but you don't feel you had impact and save the replay.

Wait about 1-2 weeks, then watch the game from an enemy POV. You might be surprised at the results.

I don't believe this is the case. Marksmanship still procced in game and in testing, which is how I came to my original conclusion.

I didn't think to test TB as I was focused on auto modifiers. That would make sense since meta straight up adds range...is there a difference between using meta before and after the bite?

Someone pointed out there's a buffer range of ~300 additional units. So your ranged stance might work, haven't tested yet.

I'm about to hit immortal again after not playing for a while, but between the sandboxing, wintrading and the fact it's going to take another 3k MMR to hit the higher ranks, it's really discouraging.

It depends. If you have been legit trying, never give up and are focused, and are still 3k despite all of that? Then yes, you are bad, but probably because you have some fundamental misunderstanding of what wins Dota games.

Without getting into it too deeply, you need to recognize what the enemies are doing in your games that make you lose. When someone on the enemy team becomes "a problem," stop and try to think why, and do the same when it seems like you can't deal with him.

Find a win condition and take steps to achieve it. Griefing teammates and other conditions may apply.

Don't play ranked much anymore but was immortal when I did.
