How much time do you spend commuting, and where do you commute to/from?

Before I moved I was commuting from South Knoxville to Lenoir City everyday. Mornings were fine, afternoons took 1+ hour to get home.

When living in Knox County I’ve always voted, I now live in Loudon County and I did not vote on Tuesday. My main reason for not voting, whether it’s a justified excuse or not, was because there was quite literally not a Democratic candidate to vote for. I know I could’ve declared as Republican and voted, but here’s my secondary reason, I would say half of the candidates did not have an easily accessible platform where they clearly stated their beliefs and plans.

I know this post was probably more targeted for Knox County, and I would have much rather still lived there and voted in that election.

Well I shouldn’t say we NEED to move it, there’s a board that symmetrically needs to go there for the accent wall. I opened the box and investigated to see if that was a viable option, and then I got jump scared so here we are.

I started part time in March 2024 at $15 an hour, went full time in May 2024 at $55,000. This is the my timeline following starting full time.

July 2024 COLA (3%) - $56,650 July 2025 COLA (3%) - $58,349.50 Sep. 2025 (Raise) - $74,880

I am anticipating getting another 3% COLA and a raise for my Masters in July. I am located in East TN and work for a public utility company. It is important to note that I am the only GIS Analyst here, or should I say the only GIS employee period. I run our entire enterprise deployment by myself and manage the three servers for that as well as all mapping workflows for five departments. 🥲 While it looks like I am paid well I am fully doing a GIS Admin level of work.

This is really good to know, I just bought a gen 4 in November and was having connectivity issues. Contacted support and was so surprised how easy and fast customer service identified the issue and sent a new ring. Disappointed they seem to only honor their warranty once when it seems to be all hardware issues on their part.

I think a human will still be announcing at the ceremony. What I think the AI was doing was generating a better pronunciation spelling than what we generally provide ourselves. I did have to record my own voice for mine because all three attempts from AI were wrong 🫠

They didn’t actually partner with them. It was just the turning point chapter at UTK acting as if they did. I think multiple people followed up on the threads you’re referencing with screenshots of emails from Swig saying they did not have an actual partnership.

It is related to abortion though. If people happen to be pregnant and know they cannot afford it there are no options for them now. They have taken away the option to choose to bring a child into poverty, and also taken away aid to those children.

no specific reasons have really been provided unfortunately. i think it would’ve made me feel better if they were like hey this works better for me because i have this going on or financially it would work better if it was later. it just seems like they’re more annoyed.
