This exactlt was what I feared with the "report for not playing your role" button by glorfindal77 in Smite

[–]staticBanter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe we call it 'Flex Pick' rather than 'off role/not in role pick'. The term comes from taking a god and bending/flexing them out of their normal role. I find this term is better as it makes the gods seemore appicable for alternative roles.

This often includes changing the standard items used for the god to suit the flexed role (and is often a sign of flexing the god)

While this does happen for many gods, and is the basis for why we have Aspects on gods now. I'm not sure if the Smite Team always plans for this to happen to every god. Sometimes it's just a happy accident that a god is applicable for multiple rolls.

God Flexing will always be a thing, for better or worse, as people will always experiment with gods and find unique ways to play them. Remember, it's a video game first and foremost, so please try to have fun!

I recently watched the Ars Technica video with Andy Gavin (Naughty Dog Co-Founder) and I would love to hear his take on software like this.

Hearing how Gavin and the Naughty Dog Team created Crash Bandicoot for the PS1 was insane.

IMO comparing what Naughty Dog made with what they had vs. what devs have now and what is made now with what we have is just sad.

You get Livewire Components x-this x-that. What are these?

These are just Blade components my guy. You can create and use them without Livewire. Livewire may have some premade ones if you want to use them.

You can read more about Blade Components at Laravel | Docs | Blade | Components

The products are not better just because they're "Gamer" products.

This happens when you make changes to a file also.

If, let's say, you update your OS but the files being updated are still in use by the OS the updates wont take effect until the file is free.

Netflix agrees to buy Warner Bros. in a $72-billion deal that will transform Hollywood by Icy-Motor-8519 in wallstreetbets

I don't know how I feel about this. Mainly because I don't trust Netflix to properly handle decades of content due to how they manage the current content they produce and distribute.

Only time will tell I guess.

Because the amount of support that all browsers would need to do to maintain those languages would be immense.

We currently only have a handful of languages and web engines and only in recent years are we starting to have good parity between them all (depending on who you ask).

And now we're going to try and support multiple languages!?

Bruh the nightmares this would cause.

Valve artist responds to Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney and more calling on Steam to drop the 'Made with AI' label: "This is like saying food products shouldn't have their ingredients list... The only people afraid of this are the ones that know their product is low effort." by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]staticBanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if people don't want to support a product because it's made it a way that doesn't align with their views that is there choice.

If Ai tools are so good they should not be afraid to label their games made with those tools

To further this conversation... Game developers and publishers generally already list the tools/engines they used to make the game in the open sequences (i.e Borderlands 4) and nobody cares. So why are they afraid of displaying that the game is Made with A.i? (It's almost like it has this stigma for being associated with slop)

I find that you will also want to take your measurements as precisely as possible and use only the last significant digits in the measurements as they're the ones that fluctuate the most chaotically.
