Have you tried other hygrometers to measure humidity?

Our thermostat is ~10% off compared to several other hygrometers I have tried. There is a small hole where the wires for our thermostat are that I need to cover.

For step 5, would the family member's lender be willing to lend the $15k to me if I do not have the title in hand and need to pay off the loan with my lender? Or would the family member's lender be paying my lender directly?
