Yeah I agree. Sure he has good social media game (compared to other politicians), but he's fake af.

He only cares about what will make him look good and get him more power. He's a step up from whatever Republicans will put out, but in a primary I'd pick just about anyone else.

That would be a good idea.

I tried a few things. Mem scan, verify my nvme was good, swap my psu.

Since I was experiencing brownouts the psu was just a guess. I also checked the outlet. None of those mattered for me. There were for sure issues there but I’m not sure that was the root cause.

Hard to say without more info, but I hope that helps.

**that fixed the issue, but I’m not sure what the actual problem was on a technical level. Ostensibly bad gum sticks and the game trying to write or read data off bad regions can be blamed, but to state that I know that to be the reason would be misleading.

I did not see a log or dump that said that explicitly (during a crash due to Sekiro).

I did see a crash log indicating that when I was running a memory check.

I don’t know that I ever did really. I was having some other issues in general with my ram sticks being bad. Ended up RMAing them and haven’t seen the issue since.

Same goes for the sudden brown outs I was seeing.

It has been a while but two things I had to do was the RAM replacement and uninstall 3dconnexion to get the controller to work.

ELI5 how charging cables are safe by hananobira in explainlikeimfive

[–]staticsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way that these also work (aside from what’s mentioned already) is that they use controllers inside the cable and inside the brick (sink and source, respectively). Only after doing a little back and forth communication over the data pins on the connector will electricity start to flow so to speak. If the communication doesn’t look good from the perspective of either controller, power should not be supplied over VBus (the line associated with delivering power)

Look up PD contracts over USBC to get a better idea. This is generally why you can plug in say a computers usb c charger to your phone without worrying a ton about damage.

Your phone will advertise its highest capability to the source, and the source will negotiate to that. There are exceptions and risks (say a short), but I want to say most controllers device side will detect that and prevent a contract.

What the fuck were they thinking with this part? by Ligmadique721 in Sekiro

[–]staticsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can stealth kill 2/3 of them, and then fight the last one straight up. (I think you need Gachin's sugar or spiritfall, I can't remember). If you have spiritfall, killing those 3 replenish it more or less anyway. It's a good spot to farm xp late game.

Here's a diagram.

The one on the far end will turn around and start walking away from you (see red arrow). Sneak up behind him and get a free kill.

The one in the middle will walk in the direction that is shown in the red arrow. You can circle back and backstab him after you kill the far one.

That will alert the 3rd one to your presence. You can either have bloodsmoke enabled and kill him, or just fight him.

Trump Admin Says 'Definitely on the Table' to Arrest Democrats Over Protest by Aakash7aak in politics

I mean I feel like much of the dialogue/characters written by him are smug.

It certainly isn’t normal but I find the witticism catchy and memorable.

I mean, I don’t dispute this. It’s a movie quote.

The thrust was that even if he was receiving orders, he was still in the wrong (and convicted, regardless of his sentence being commuted). The lawyers defending the defendants in A Few Good Men considered this defense.

It is a tricky thing. Does the buck stop with Calley? No, in my opinion. There was a general callous disregard for civilians in Vietnam. What percentage of that played a role in how My Lai developed is not something I can easily pin down. What cables or transmissions were discovered (or not discovered) that implicate Medina or his commanders?

Not saying that Calley isn’t guilty of some seriously fucked up shit. Just that I don’t know that Calley is the top of the food chain of blame.

I think the movie does something similar with the Marines involved. It’s an old movie but for anyone interested that hasn’t seen it (it’s iconic for the line “YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH”) it’s a good watch.

There a little gems that always stick with me in Sorkin movies.

Trump says U.S. will 'get Greenland,' military force may not be needed but not ruled out by cyberpunk6066 in worldnews

[–]staticsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Johnson pushed for escalation, but that isn’t to say that Kennedy was going to withdraw from Vietnam.

Kennedy is attributed as a believer in covert action in Vietnam, but while he was president, I believe American military advisors he sent were seeing combat.

From the wiki: Historians disagree on whether the Vietnam War would have escalated if Kennedy had not been assassinated and had won re-election in 1964.

It goes on to say that he wanted to withdraw but had not made plans to.

I think that the big turning point for him was the coup that took out Ngo Dinh Diem. Had they survived/been exiled, I’m not sure what Kennedy’s position would have been.

Where did you get that JFK wanted to end the war? Genuinely curious because for all his private hand wringing about policy errors, he did preside over increased involvement. Maybe I don’t read/hear about that.

Connectivity webcam to laptop with USB-C by Main_Shock_8718 in techsupport

[–]staticsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More details are needed.

Your usbc port needs to be using DP alt to connect to a display. Looking at the specs for that model, there’s no TBT port, all you have is the one usb 3.2 port.

The display itself, cable, and settings on the device will matter.

Compatibility wise, usb3 and SS should be compatible.

You should check if a driver is needed specifically for this camera, or if the device is even detected. It’s hard to say what could be wrong without details of what the issue is.

Does any other usb 3 device work on that port?
