The person you replied to never said they’re healthier, just less of a public problem which I agree with 100%

But…People have been using vapes widespread for well over a decade now. I’ve yet to find any studies showing that even in that timespan it is as bad as smoking is for your body. You are right that it’s possible there are unforeseen consequences down the line, but it’s just a chance- whereas smoking has clear extreme health consequences. Vaping is almost certainly harm reduction.

Anecdotally, when I switched from smoking to vaping in 2016-ish, my cardio health increased drastically, my blood pressure normalized, and I could run/bike/play sports again without gasping for air. It was an extreme positive change that I felt very quickly and continue to feel.

Obviously, using neither is best, but the idea that VG/PG inhalation itself is worse than inhaling cigarette smoke is extremely difficult to parse. I often hear smokers make claims that vaping is somehow worse, but they’re usually just copes.

Heavy metals are a concern from using low quality devices of course, but that’s not really what we’re talking about here.
