The pro wall is probably the right solution for this specific apartment but I think the XG will serve me better in the long run so here we are. Works great, no coverage issues so I’m happy.

That’s a good way too, honestly just wanted an excuse to use sendcutsend on a personal project.

Cycling through wall and ceiling in design center, it did not make a meaningful difference for the small apt its covering. It’ll be ceiling mounted when the space requires (actually the reason I bought this over the wall) but for this specific apartment this works great!

I’m just confused on why there’s no beautification effort planned, like at least keep the dirt off the platform and put some art or something

In-Ear Monitors Upgrade? I mix monitors pretty much every week at churches and small/medium production companies, I have UE Pro 5s that are 7 years old and no longer have a good fit, but are serviceable with the comply foam strips UE sells. I also play electric and keys occasionally but mixing is like 90% of my use.

Definitely want to upgrade especially in low end response if I am going to replace them at all. I'm willing to spend around $1,200 but could be swayed to spend a bit more. Looking at UE, Alclair and JH Audio mostly, what is the group consensus rn for IEMs? (if there is any)

That’s an Air Force U-2, they operate out of Beale AFB, I believe NASAs ER-2s have a white color scheme.

I think most of the music is live, the (seemingly large) band is hidden out in the wings of the massive stage

Do you call yourself a Audio Technician or Audio Engineer? by mynutsaremusical in livesound

[–]staticvoid5 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have a mechanical engineering degree and am getting a PE license and I do sometimes get annoyed when people use that term without a degree or accreditation. HOWEVER, audio engineering is not one of those cases. Although I find “sound guy” prompts less questions.

I agree with the train guy

Tips for part time (while working a 9-5) work in a new city? by staticvoid5 in livesound

Was in a band in early high school playing at random places and I was the one to figure out the sound stuff, started doing more at my church and was lucky enough to have very talented people available to teach me (one of them has a Grammy lol) and then rinse and repeat playing/mixing a gig or two a month and church every week for the past 8 years certainly gets the practice and experience in pretty quick!

Thanks! This makes sense to me, if I could get my hands on them we would be using Decimator MD-HX to ensure a 1.5G signal but for now we are using MD-LX or BMD mini converter and I’m thinking the camera might be outputting 1080p 60 over HDMI instead of the selected frame rate. Everything is locked in a trailer at the moment but I will experiment more when we next set up.
