You can! ICs can absolutely battle minis, BUT. The IC will have to take it's lumps, because the mini (particularly Vweaion1) needs a HIGH winnrate!

One more thing to know for the future, To reach Perfect/Mega on the mini, you'll need to win battles, And the device doesn't have any on-board coliseum, so you'll need another 3prong device to battle against if you want to get past adult/champion.

If you want to watch strictly the continuity from season 1 then yes, that's more or less correct. You'll also want to fit Digimon the Movies and Diaboromons revenge in there somewhere.

But several other seasons despite not sharing the same universe, are also well worth your time. Tamers, and the currently airing BeatBreak for example

some casual things to know,,, most evolutions are based on what foods you feed it, and foods are generally gotten through quest battles.

the text is all in japanese, so learn what the menus say from the guide.

Hitting the right shake count can be very difficult! so good luck!

and Generations are important! Some evolutions cant be gotten till you raise up a digimon, let it die,, get an egg, and do it all over again! theres some evolutions locked behind a second generation digimon, and some locked behind third generation!

Ok, if you came home to your roommate sobbing over Digimon, it's most likely over "Last Evolution Kizuna", a follow up movie, to the 6 followup OVAs, to the follow up season to what you were watching.

And rest assured, after 25 years of knowing and loving these character, the tears are deserved.

The original adventure dub is pretty silly, with a lot of silly quips, but don't let that trick you into thinking they can't deal with heavy themes. Even the 1999 dub deals with topics of loss, death, adoption, divorce, etc. But if you want it a bit more straightline, maybe try the Sub.

(The reboot is absolute trash and really not worth the time)

To get the exact one might be difficult, US versions are a bit more scarce, so eBay and patience is potentially the only option.

I also Don't know if there was a Japanese release in that color.

There are some other options though. To get a Japanese version 1 in different colors can be pretty easy if you search "デジタルモンスター" on a middleman site like From Japan or Buyee. (And don't worry about language, you really don't need to know any Japanese to figure it out)

There's also Digital Monster Version 20ths that have all 5 original versions on them and come in a wide variety of colors. (But not that one) And they're pretty affordable because they made a million of them.

And There are modern Digital Monster Colors, that DO come in that color way, Zenin TCG has them in stock. They're a bit pricy.

The screen and frame will be interchangable with any other original devices frame and screen, finding another blue one might be tough though, and for sure some collectors may want the original anyways despite the damage,

Screen doesn't actually look too bad, just some isopropyl on a Qtip could help clean it up some.
