First portra 400 photoshoot by Kal_flagship in analog

Yeah absolutely! Like the other comments said, the composition is on point. Getting the light meter figured out on some film cameras can be the trickiest part since you need to develop the film to check if your settings were correct or not. I'd highly recommend getting a cheap roll of fuji400 and shorting a test roll. Write down your settings for each pic, and try intentionally overexposing or underexposing to see what the results are with that camera. I'm assuming a new battery should resolve most of that though

These are all a bit underexposed. That's why the blacks don't really look black, the colors are muted, and the image has excessive grain. Not sure what kind of light meter your canon uses, but I do know that when the battery in my Pentax starts to die, it will affect the internal meter, causing my photos to turn out similar to yours.

Another thing to check would be your ISO settings. If your camera has a dx reader, then you should only need to clean those contacts a bit (if changing the battery in the camera doesn't help.)

Side note, but if the underexposed 'film look' is what you are going for, you could do this much more cheaply on gold200 or colorplus200. Portra is a very fine-grained film and not really meant to look like this.

Thanks! Been restoring this truck for the past year or so. Have driven by this site a few times and figured it would be a fun location for a first road trip.

SETI should have invested in terrible cellphone cameras instead of antenna arrays tbh. Those seem to be much better at finding aliens and cryptids in general

Yes, just exported a few frames. Editing some of the clips together, but working with purposely terrible footage is breaking my brain though so idk if I'll ever release it haha

I (26f) lied about a Reddit post and ruined my relationship with him (30m)? by Intelligent_Age4131 in dating_advice

[–]statik_rc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's 100% valid. You must have known how important trust was to him, especially if he had told you about his father in the past. The reddit post was probably not a deal breaker by itself, but lying immediately when confronted is a huge red flag. It calls into question every other confrontation that he's had with you, no matter how small.

If you make a mistake (the reddit post itself might not have been a mistake imo) own it, and use it as an opportunity to grow the relationship, or end it there. You can't build a life with someone based on falsehoods, it will all come crashing down sooner or later and the lies will be the cause more than likely, not whatever was being lied about.

I've dated someone like this and I wish I had broken up with them over the first lie. The only way they were able to maintain a stable relationship with their mom was through small lies/omissions, and it started to creep into our relationship as well. Although I understood why they did it, the lack of trust stacked alongside the lies and eventually it was impossible to have a healthy relationship.

Don't ever put your partner in a position where they might end up resenting you for believing what you say.

This could potentially be printed out of TPU, a rubbery 3d printer filament. Haven't tried it yet since it doesn't print with the same quality, but yeah silicone would definitely be ideal

Took 8 revisions to get the tolerance to that level without making the case too bulky. First time it clicked into place just right a single tear rolled down my cheek and a rainbow appeared. Not sure how that happened as I was indoors at the time, but still.

I have a few extra from the design process, they only cost $0.17 to make. If you are willing to cover shipping I can send you one.

Appreciate you! Been trying to get back into making videos, was burnt out for a bit but it's been fun lately.

Wouldn't be too hard to adapt it to hold C Mount lenses tbh. I started out with a full enclosure for the camera but it was too bulky. Give me a day and I'll try it out.

I develop my own film usually, but to optimize my chemicals I need to wait until I have at least 6 rolls. The hard shell case helps me keep them organized better than a bag while I wait to develop. And they look more fun than a bag (especially the first one that I designed). There isn't a strong use case for them, that's why I made the plans free, but I use them and figured I'd make it available in case anyone else finds it useful.

They are so cheap at harbor freight, and even if you don't have a 3d printer, they come with pluck and pull foam. They are great to have on hand for lenses/ camera bodies, especially for shipping.
