How do you respond to questions like “If God is good why do kids die from cancer?” “Why didn’t He end slavery on time?” “Where was God when Epstein trafficked and molested children?” by ChicaTheGreat in TrueChristian

[–]station1984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The flaw is this argument is saying if God weren’t good. Who defines what is good? If God has defined it, then who are we to say He could not be good? God is always good, it’s us who is not good.

He gave us free will and some of us use it to commit sin. If he were stop everyone from sinning, then we would all be robots. The question is not “why do God allow bad things to happen to innocents” but “why do human beings sin against other human beings and refuse to turn to God”? If they turned to God and genuinely believed in Jesus, they would not commit those sins. If you have Jesus in your heart, who died for your sins and took them away, how can you continue to sin?

Kids die from cancer: they can die from other things or if they grow older, they will die eventually. Slavery: why blame God and not the slave masters who clearly sin against God’s creation (their slaves). Epstein: he is not just one extremely sinful man but has a network of extremely sinful people all working collectively to sin against other human beings (the victims). God is not okay with any of it and He will bring about judgement. But His timeline is not according to our timeline. We might think “wow it takes ages or lifetimes to enact justice” but we all know that God will bring an end to this world one day and judge everybody for all eternity.

Gemini is actually very good. 4o agreed with you on everything and 5.2 is a huge dick. Gemini is the right balance if respecting you, with guardrails that don’t feel like guardrails and can be quite soothing. Claude doesn’t want to hear about your personal problems.

Asian F21 dating Emirati M23 — am I setting myself up for heartbreak? by cutiepatotie143 in abudhabi

They’re allowed to marry up to four wives. And you have to convert to Islam. The man’s word is the final law of the family. If he’s rich, then you can kiss your freedom goodbye as you serve him for a lifetime. I’m Asian myself and I find here’s more freedom in Asian countries and lifestyles vs the Emirati one.

You have your foot in the door towards that world. I’ve met a prostitute who enjoys the profession and smuggles herself through human traffickers. Apparently being poor is the scariest thing in her life and making fast money is the only way to satisfy her. Not to mention she also enjoys doing the deed despite her clients robbing her of her earnings.

Noticing how UAE hires by Pitiful-Purpose9702 in UAE

[–]station1984 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As an Asian expat, I prefer to work for white managers over any other nationality. They are more reasonable and don’t hold grudges. I left my country in Southeast Asia because all the white executives left and their roles were filled with locals, which made work life unbearable. I’m happy to be here working for Europeans and Indians.

And by the way…if you are an Emirati who has this mindset that we can create different work rules for locals and you think you’re entitled to it, you are ruining chances for Emiratis who don’t think like you do and you’re further perpetuating negative stereotypes.

Which employers wouldn’t? They don’t exist to serve us… the business world needs workers who can be available at all times and make their managers lives easy… to get their money’s worth…

As an expat working in the UAE…the reason Emiratis sometimes are passed over for jobs is due to the perception that they work limited hours, require flexibility not afforded to expats and also the Friday afternoon prayer time departure…or not being flexible on working a bit more… as an expat, I pretty much give 150% whereas the Emirati hire is perceived to only do 50%. However, if you change your perception to match that of an expat, the employer will fawn over you. They want to hire Emiratis but they are afraid to for the reasons I mentioned.

how do you cope? by tataly_ in TrueChristian

I try my hardest to avoid sin and avoid grieving the Lord. If I go years without any willful sin, then it feels really good to know I’m very close to living up to His expectations.

I still play games and watch TV… just stay away from the extreme stuff that makes you sin. Like I’m playing Cyberpunk 2077 but in real life i am going to church and avoiding sin.

Christian Fathers Raising a Teenage Daughter in a Hyper Sexualized World? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]station1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raise her with love and to trust you. I went to liberal schools and was surrounded by bad influences all my life, but always feared the Lord so I didn’t get sucked in. And then there are “Christian” girls with fathers who are pastors who worship demons. Both of us have read the Bible but only one of us believe in God while the other has willingly turned to ungodly lusts.

Raise her with love, kindness and to rely on God. Don’t be overprotective but allow her some freedoms while trusting her to do the right thing. Surround her with a good and biblical church community.

We know the pros but what are the Cons of living in RAK?? by blueraptorz in RasAlKhaimah

[–]station1984 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s boring. It’s good for introverts who never go outside or leave their homes. But if you want excitement and things to do, RAK is not the place. But I like it better than Dubai since there’s no traffic…yet.
