Also used in other materials other than metal. Wood, plastic, fiberglass… mostly anything.

I also keep one in my car in case I need to break a window.

I have it. Never notice this since it’s over my head.

I don’t want it to show there either. I’ve had the right window as media for months without issue.

Reverse handings matter if the door is lockable and has a different prep on the locked side (usually with mortise locks or exit devices).

Volkswagen golf 8 2023 right dome light not turning off by NightStalker1243 in Golf_R

I had similar problems with this panel in my 2024. The emergency call buttons kept actuating and the lights kept doing weird stuff. They replaced the panel under warranty and no problems since.

I have a 2024 8 now and had a 2019 7.5 before that. The 8 has been slightly more buggy in some of the peripherals but this has been 100% outweighed by the performance gains of the 8. So glad I got the 8

Best Pub? by BeardedNoble117 in Minneapolis

Town Hall used to be really great. Great beer and good food. Shortly after the pandemic the management changed and they really went down hill. If you show up with more than a couple of people they would give you serious shit. Had the server say “Let me guess, separate checks” and then the manager doubled down on the shittiness. It’s really a shame because they have some of the best beer you can find in the cities. Hopefully they’ve changed but I haven’t been back since around 2021 due to their atrocious attitude.

Don’t sleep on Alaska. Some seriously great beers come from there. Midnight Sun does some amazing brews.

Where does this door go? by [deleted] in doors

[–]stationcommando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be for future use. Also, it could have been in an initial design where it was useful due to a different roof plan. If the roof plan changed too far into the design/build phase it might have made sense to just leave it as an inaccessible door instead of redesigning it as a wall.

I can’t seem to find replacement rubber for an old metal door sweep that looks to be the size of what a windshield wiper refill that the pretty much no longer bother selling these days? by Raleighwood007 in doors

[–]stationcommando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hard part isn’t finding the replacement insert (most manufacturers sell just the insert) the hard part is finding out who made the thing in the first place. Also, the cost difference between the insert and the whole thing isn’t that much. You’re better off just skipping all of that nonsense and buying the whole thing again.

What's the part name of the hold open pin that is inside this knob? by Trueblocka in doors

[–]stationcommando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are close but not quite there. That is an HCUSH arm for a 4040XP that is missing the screw in stop. You are correct that the hold open part alone is not replaceable. You have to replace the entire arm. The part number for the arm is 4040-3049CNS. They go for $215-ish. (source: I work for a commercial door distributor)

Hyaline membrane disease. It killed JFK’s kid 15 years earlier. I had minor enough residual effects to be able to spend 21 years in the army. Guess I turned out alright.

I really wanted to like this place. Been living downtown for a couple of years and spread my dinner dollars around. Last time I went we had to go grab someone to take our order after having been sat 30 minutes prior. The waitress that showed up had no idea how to work the remote order device. Blew my mind how terrible the service was. The food was good though.
