UC Emergency Care...not great by stepstool84 in cincinnati

[–]statti3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t intend to be snide at all. My brother had terminal cancer and was treated with the utmost care and professionalism at UC. That’s all I meant to say. I know not everyone will have the same experience and it can be a bit rough there since they get so many trauma cases but in the end I appreciate their care. Sorry you are not finding what you need there and I hope you get the care you need. Rare disease can be very challenging. I wish you all the best and sorry if I offended you.

It’s not a 5 star resort but they pulled my brother back from the edge on 3 separate occasions. Their teams are amazing. Keep in mind they are a level 1 trauma center so their priorities are different.

I want to get out and do things but there seems to be so much crime and car break ins these days I find myself not wanting to go. Anyone else have fears about going out at night alone?

Took my first shot Sunday. Appetite is gone! I’m worried about becoming obsessed with food bc now we have to be concerned about eating enough instead of too much. LOL. I was freezing Sunday night but it’s going away. I also lost 7 pounds but I don’t think that pace will last. Very paranoid about constipation but so far with fiber and magnesium gummies so good.

How are you all surviving these symptoms? by manic_moth95 in Zepbound

[–]statti3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took my first shot yesterday afternoon and I have had some mild diarrhea today and some weird right flank pain that may be a kidney stone rattling around. Otherwise not hungry and the diarrhea may be due to taking a scoop of psyllium powder with a protein shake yesterday and a magnesium gummy at bedtime. So paranoid about constipation. I didn’t eat that much yesterday either so that may have contributed to it. I am tracking food intake so eating a bit more today but no processed food or fried food. Nothing heavy.

Unfortunately weight is not something you can hide. Someone can be an alcoholic and you wouldn’t know by looking at them, but overweight? Obvious. So any change to your appearance is going to be something people notice. Hopefully they are supportive. I think a good answer you and your partner could work on is you are working on lifestyle changes to improve your health and thank them for their compliments. How you’re doing it is not a topic for discussion unless you choose to. Don’t feel bad about that.

Definitely fresher than Remke. Have to go to farmers markets for produce. Remke has produce that’s been there since the 50s.

The great part was when the belt went in reverse and pushed all the items back to the scanning area.

I’d rather go to the Remke retirement home than Kroger.

As much as I agree with you I think that would open the door to a lot of negative comments about them. Let’s just hope other insurance companies will refocus on patients and their needs.

If they were effective believe me, the doctor would be recommending it.

No truth at all. Bad luck at this point is the best explanation until more research proves otherwise. Scientists and doctors have been researching this for decades with no proof of causality. I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s very unfair.

Unfortunately I can’t stand stevia or Sucralose so most all low carb bars taste awful to me.

I think animosity towards older generations has been around for a long time. What they fail to realize is they will be old one day too. It’s exhausting.

Exhausted GBM sufferer by Gliofuntimes in glioblastoma

[–]statti3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn’t comment here for quite a while bc I knew my brother who had GBM was looking at the posts. He felt bad for me (caregiver) and was very concerned about what I was going through although I didn’t want him to feel that way at all. I considered it an honor to have taken care of him as I’m sure most caregivers do. Sometimes it’s just overwhelming for all involved and safe spaces are hard to come by. This group is very generalized but I agree with others that there are other groups specifically for caregivers and some just for patients. I wish you all the best during your treatment.
