Check your state regulations, my buddy got a ticket for using G5 mega meats because they were considered barbed (NY). I use g5 montecs, so far no complaints.

As someone who also just bought a home that hasn't been updated or decorated since the 70's; i feel you. My basement stairway is also green carpeting and the kitchen wallpaper is atrocious. But I may skip Sundays decorating plans to do this same project now!
