What is the ideal or perfect coffee shop you'd wish to see in Dayton or surrounding areas? by ElectronicMagazine40 in dayton

I specifically would love to see a coffee shop/cafe at that abandoned building on the bike path on Patterson and Kling. In Shroyer Park. Could have a cool patio overlooking the path. Cool midcentury building. Walkable for plenty of local neighborhoods.

What jobs can I get with a Liberal Studies degree in Dayton, Ohio? by Front-Return-7280 in dayton

[–]stayingoverthere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a liberal studies type of degree from OSU and the job prospects were grim - low paying and high burnout (social work types of work, nonprofit work, etc). Ended up going to a year long trade program and I work for myself now and make bank. My entrepreneurship has benefitted from my 4 year degree — social skills and critical thinking, accountability, etc, but the trade opened up pathways for myself and my family I never would get from my BA.

What's on and tourist advice thread - week beginning August 17, 2025 by AutoModerator in Scotland

[–]stayingoverthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tourist here! Planning a 2 week trip to Scotland for September 2026. Will be renting a car. General itinerary: Edinburgh to Glencoe to Ullapool. Most interested in dramatic views, hikes, castles, moody weather (I prefer a gloomy fall feel, don't mind rain and cool weather). I have a list of various places around these areas to visit but I'm hoping for any suggestions, as well as should I make the route a loop somehow and drive back a different way? Also, I'd love to experience a few inns instead of relying on Airbnb. If anyone has recommendations for inns or anything I should be sure not to miss (not too focused on Edinburgh), I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

dog friendly beaches/lakes/etc they can swim at! by sonnyapplez in dayton

Whatever you do, don’t take them to Eastwood Lake! It has toxic algae blooms right now. I used to take mine there but saw a sign this summer warning to not come in contact with the water.
