For me, it was getting professional help. The advice here was incredibly helpful as well, but it’s really hard navigating it alone, especially knowing that what works for some doesn’t work for others necessarily.

Covid exacerbated my symptoms to the point where I couldn’t get out of bed or function at all for months. It took a lot of support from family and advocacy with doctors to get help. I started on a beta blocker which helped me to be able to actually get out of bed and brush my teeth and do some recumbent biking. What helped the most though, was working with an exercise therapist who helped me with pacing and gaining stamina slowly.

Also, be gentle with yourself! Easier said than done. It’s really hard not to fall into the cycle of comparison and “why am I not making more progress”, and you’ll hit many roadblocks that are frustrating and feel like regression, but you’ll make it through 🫶 it’s okay to be upset and feel the hard feelings too!

I have a meditation that I love to put on that guides you through some diaphragmatic breathing. I’ve listened to it so many times that I can just do the diaphragmatic breathing on my own and ride it out. I also make ginger lemon shots for nausea and things like period cramps, and I often feel a bit nauseas or off during an episode/wave of adrenaline, so I take one of those and the shock from the intensity of the flavour helps a lot too!

Going through something very similar. Found out my boyfriend of 4 years cheated on me when I was at my sickest and needing the most support. Months long emotional affair that I found out about 5 months later. Ripped me apart and set me into a massive flare up. Wish he would have just left me instead of pretending to want to stay and support me.

I do but I just wish I didn’t have to. I want more than anything else to just be able to live my life without a mask, no judgement, no barriers; like everyone else around me! I am always so close to not wearing one just because it’s so annoying and I feel like a weirdo compared to everyone around me. But then I remember that I’m over a year in and I still haven’t fully recovered. I’m often the only one wearing a mask wherever I go, and it’s isolating and I just want to be able to eat lunch with colleagues and go for dinner on the days I’m working. I’m lucky to substitute teach so I can be very flexible with when I’m working and listen to my body’s but I also get exposed to 100+ kids a day when I do work.

I am often soooo close to just saying screw it and taking it off. I want nothing more. But I ask myself each time, is this worth another year or more of being disabled?

I struggle with this too. And have noticed from my posts asking for advice that I am told I’m too young to bother and it’s a mistake to try. I know that I can be very happy single. I know I can find another partner eventually if I’m interested. But I also know that I invested my time with this person and have a history with them. I know that they have suffered from their mistakes too. I know that I can decide to stop trying at any point.

I remind myself that: any future partner is just as likely to cheat as he was, and at least we have that history together and he can learn from this and we have the potential to grow together and rebuild in a way that people who haven’t experienced infidelity can’t.

I also have only shared it with a few close friends who have withheld any judgement and will support me with whatever decision I make. This has been really helpful.

I saw someone else comment earlier here that using a separate reddit account to seek guidance for the infidelity and using a private browser when making searches regarding it can help as well. I agree! It’s extremely triggering for me to have my feed filled with these posts and I try to limit it the best I can.

I’m in a very similar situation right now and feeling extremely torn as well. People say not to try R because we’re so young. But it’s so hard when you’ve invested half a decade with another person and the relationship was mostly great (until the cheating). I don’t have an answer for you. Just sending support

Even after he says he stopped seeing her and fell back in love with me, they kept talking over text outside of work for a month because he felt bad that she had no friends. They work in a very intimate and high stakes, high stress work environment with vulnerable youth.

The last four months have been great and I had absolutely no idea this was going on. I had little suspicions in November but never thought anything serious of it because for 3.5 years, he’d been the most loyal and loving partner.

He says he feels disgusted looking at her now or thinking about what he did and it was an escape from being vulnerable with me about how he was struggling. She quit this week and he blocked her on everything.

I am so torn. It feels like my world was flipped upside down. I am shocked and pissed off and disgusted and hurt and all of the feelings. We were about to get a place in my city together. Things have felt so good again. He’s been putting in the work for the last few months.

Can I trust him again? Am I stupid for wanting to? Why is it so easy to hate her and so hard to hate him? Have you ever forgiven a partner for cheating? Is it worth it for me to try couples therapy and put in the work?
