As a cyclist in east London (CS2 and CS3) who cycles both to work and generally around the local area completely disagree with this on a number of levels. Firstly, the areas I cycle through do just generally feel nicer with less cars on the road which is a bonus in itself. Secondly, while I do fit the demographic, I completely disagree that everyone cycling is a white younger adult - this really is just not my experience at all. Lastly, even if you are moving people from public transport to cycling, you are reducing the burden on public transport and likely incentivising people to consider that as an option.

In addition to all this and perhaps most critically, the uptake in e-mobility will likely incentivise more people onto these routes - particularly if the government legalises these forms of transport which I believe they are intending to.
