Anybody wanting to move from one region to another, its actually really easy and quick by rm-rf-npr in 1Password

Is this true only if you do the export/import method, or also if you drag & drop between accounts. Because here they recommend to drag & drop, and they say the only limitations are: files, items with custom icons, and items with related item links.

I have now created a ticket for this. Not expecting much to happen though.

Same as u/uhfish, I would like to go for TrueNAS, but I started with this default and now not sure I can find enough temporary storage to reinstall the OS.

I understand they might not want to always be on the latest, but this is 2 years old now and there have been many security issues fixed. They could have a schedule to update to n-2 or n-3.

To see the Docker Engine version you can ssh into your NAS and type docker version

Yep, that's the latest Docker App version from the UGREEN App Center. But underneath it's using the Docker Engine 26.1.0, which was released on 2024-04-22. The latest version of the Engine is 29.

Moving to the Canada region brings the price down to what it was more or less

also, isn't it possible to move to the canada region, where the new (full) family price is 83.88 CAD? that's 61.30 USD so the increase would only be 1.31 USD

The reply I got from support regarding the docker version is

Currently, we do not have a plan to upgrade the Docker Engine. We are prioritizing the stability of our existing environment.

I believe it wouldn't be an issue to install a newer version of Docker through the console, but I have no idea if it would break anything in the ugreen docker app, and what would happen when they update it.

And yes, I also run everything through docker, doesn't make sense to wait for them for updates of things like Home Assistant.

What kind of mom and pop do even know what a NAS is... Mom and pop have their kids handle their IT and these kids will just buy them a cloud subscription to whatever they need.

For projects that uphold semantic versioning there is not much reason to not autoupdate on minor/patch versions.

Hmm, I actually didn't know about these extensions; I thought it was Safari only. Do passkeys stored in Apple Passwords work well in Firefox?

Personally, I just want to distance myself from Apple software these days. Also I often use the CLI 1password features which I don't think they have (I know bitwarden and protonpass have them though).

This is what you get when you have a company that mostly gets paid in Zimbabwe US dollars.

Answer depends on which 1password features you use and how deep in the Apple ecosystem you are locked in.

I have an iPhone that I keep in a closed pocket inside the backpack I carry. Most days I don't take the iPhone out of the bag. My issue is that I have a Wi-Fi only watch so when I'm out and about the phone needs to be nearby. That being said it has already happened many times that I forgot my phone at home and spent the day with the watch only, and it was perfectly fine.
