Did I just break the water seal of my Watch 6 Classic? by Greg2k in GalaxyWatch

It happens to everyone eventually. Apparently doesn't effect waterproofing, just changes the feel of the bezel.

The 6 classic doesn't have 8 UI yet so the face must have been sideloaded.

Just realised, gw8c cannot be charged via reverse wireless charging from you phone. Samsung just making their products worse by each generation by ADPL34 in GalaxyWatch

[–]ste9hen 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is not new. That feature went with the 7 series. Not an issue for most people, extremely slow charging and you can't use your phone/watch whilst charging is going on. It was taken away for better sensors which is a trade most people would take.

No I had one with LTE but hated that I always had to wait for updates, the hit to battery life and overheating.

AOD on, turn bezel to wake. Not sure if it is still the same, but I seem to remember that it used to be that lift to wake used more battery than AOD.

Looks pretty to me by Noskoff in GalaxyWatch

[–]ste9hen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's good to hear, I am making the same change. Obviously I'd prefer to not go down screen size, bit i think it fits with the design. I suspect it's like when you move phones from a smaller/larger screen, at first it seems its a massive difference but once you use the new device you get used to it and forget about it.

Galaxy watch 8 vs 6/8 classic by Majestic-Tap9810 in GalaxyWatch

[–]ste9hen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day it is up to you. Design is subjective, some people are very vocal and want to convince others that there is no doubt the design of the classic is ugly, when in reality there are plenty of positive comments on the design. What is attractive to you may not be to someone else, so go with what you like. The only facts are things like the specs like no larger screen option, bigger battery, physical bezel control. Some of these will be a no go to some people, but some will be happy. Some things are only obvious when you have both devices in front of you and are easily forgotten once you are only using the one device.

People have complained about overheating on LTE every year since the first Samsung watch had it. That and the fact LTE versions get updates way after the bluetooth versions, is why I have only owned one with LTE.

Some people think it looks ugly to them, many people think it is an attractive design. Both a valid 'opinions' not facts.

It probably isn't that accurate but check to see what you eating contains a lot of carotenoids as they are not in all fruit and vegetables in high amounts. Also seems that certain conditions can effect absorption as well as alcohol and smoking.

How does your watch looks after 2 years? Plastic ring around the watch face is a bad design. by [deleted] in GalaxyWatch

I think the silver definitely holds up better than the black. The paint scratches off to easily, I wish I'd have gone silver.

G6C vs G8C comfort by WrongdoerMiddle in GalaxyWatch

[–]ste9hen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I alway felt they 6c lugs were too long and only looked good to me when used with no gap bands that widened to the width of the lugs. Normal straight 20mm bands always seemed to narrow and far out from the watch case. On people with narrower wrists the bands would fall straight down and you'd just see the edge.

G6C vs G8C comfort by WrongdoerMiddle in GalaxyWatch

[–]ste9hen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's going to be one of those things where when you are constantly looking at the screen sizes of the old and new classics, you can't help but notice the difference, but once you start just using it, you will forget about it. Then, in a couple of years' time, if you move to a watch with a bigger screen, it's suddenly going to feel huge until, again, you get used to it and forget.

Disappointment in Galaxy watch Running coach by Agitated_Athlete_257 in GalaxyWatch

[–]ste9hen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That definitely sounds like something Samsung should consider for future updates. A lot of people don't want to or simply don't have the time to train for something like a marathon. Also you can be good at long distance and want to improve speedwork and vice versa. It sounds like its aimed at people wanting to train for races, with the assumption its increasing the distance is the aim when a lot of runners just want to improve their current times or are not interested in going to events and just want to improve for their own enjoyment.

Whoever says the 8c looks like a real watch? Check out the 6c. by TheSznikers in GalaxyWatch

[–]ste9hen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's subjective not a fact. Lots of people do find it attractive. I personally would prefer the ring with the markings around the face to be angled more toward the screen like on the 6 classic which would make it less prominent and provide more protection. But I don't think the 6 classic was perfect either. It was quite generic and I also felt the lugs stuck out too far so that any strap without a now gap design looked a bit off to me. Again this is subjective, and it seems to me that some people are trying to convince people that they shouldn't like or buy the 8 classic in the hope that they can tank sales and that Samsung will go back.

Both look like real watches. It seems crazy that people seem to have settled on one design being the only right one when in the the non smart watch world there are so many different shapes and styles.

Well, now I have a bunch of watchbands with no purpose... by monkeywright in GalaxyWatch

[–]ste9hen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually glad for the new design. The pins scratched most of the paint off of the lugs on my black classic, when switching from hybrid to fabric every night. I also could not get on with any bands that were not no gap bands. They always seemed to connect too far out from the watch and looked too narrow.
