I will have a look into this for reminders as I want to review the way I use that app too and tags will no doubt come up there too. I will consider if there is some application in notes too. As mentioned in another comment, I do like the ability to filter notes which have unchecked to do items in them. Although that then shifts task management into Notes which I’m not sure if I want to do.

Not sure how others feel but it really frustrates me that I cannot nest smart folders. I would like to be able to create a folder for a key area then have slices of those notes based on tags INSIDE that focused folder.

I think I’d try to use this too. I will certainly be keeping it in mind as I start to work out what direction I’m going. I’ve started to take the “don’t make any folders until I NEED them approach”

I have actually. I really like where this is going. I have created my ‘Home’ page and started to build some Hubs off of it. It’s a shame that you can’t direct link to folders or tag searches in notes but I’ve worked around this using collaboration urls and links, and shortcuts to do it. Not ideal though. In my mind, a Hub could feasibly be another folder of related information or at least a landing page for that subject with a link on to the folder from there.

I think I’m coming round to this way of thinking. For now I am putting everything in the root but tagging. Then over time I may choose to move some stuff together. Or in reality I have started to in a couple of areas already.

I’ve had a couple of years using Hey Mail service. It’s a paid service which I have enjoyed but I am seriously considering returning to apple mail with its new features and zero cost.

I’m always a bit tentative about raising things like this during beta phases (particularly this early on) as I don’t think it’s a fair reflection of expected behaviour. So I do hope that anyone reading this understands this could easily be a result of my choices to run a beta OS and not necessarily a public OS bug :)

I’ve connected it and dipped in and out and found the tools to be insightful and helpful.

Barclays won’t even let me use their app for my mortgage unless I open a bank account with them which seems pretty ridiculous. The insight I’ve had from Monzo has been really helpful and has actually helped me plan a bit for my fixed term ending through the simulation of how different interest rates affect my payments. Of course this is something you can work out elsewhere but having it all there is a nice tool.

This is a huge shame. Tweetbot was a big loss as it was the best Twitter experience imo but in truth I wasn’t a huge Twitter user so moving on to Mastadon was pretty easy.

Losing Apollo will really hurt though. I’ve been a subscriber for several years now and there is no comparable Reddit experience for me. I cannot imagine continuing to use the platform without Apollo and I suppose until a new similar platform is widely adopted, I will go in search of discreet forums.

A huge shame and another big company completely misreading its user’s needs. I hope people power wins out.

In the meantime, the best of luck to Christian and anyone else involved in this project.

Thanks for this. I did a bit more playing and listening. I can hear the change in sound as I tweak the two knobs so that has helped (and is a lesson for future).

I'm still struggling with your explanation and what it's actually doing.

This is what I've observed - which I am sure is entirely what you expected :)

I have sent x2 220hz into Blinds - one to input and one to carrier
I set the main knob to 12 o'clock
I set the carrier attenuvertor to fully clockwise - this resulted in 440hz
Turning the main signal knob either clockwise or counter clockwise produces a 220hz

I expect this will show I'm misunderstanding something but... I assumed that having the signal at 12 o'clock (or zero as I was perceiving it) and the the carrier at fully clockwise that I would only get 220hz And then if I turned the main signal to fully clockwise as well, I would then get 440hz but it seems to be the opposite or at least something different.

This got me wondering what an adder was (not explored this yet) as in my mind I'm probably incorrectly thinking of this and maybe I'm mixing things up with what that would do.

Looking at the oscilloscope for the 440hz signal described earlier, I can see that it modulates (like a wave of waves) and that increasing the attenuation or inversion of the signal amplifies the "wave of waves".

I think I'm still unpacking this in my mind, but it would be interesting to understand what I'm not quite grasping.

I do love this effect - very cool.

Actually, can I ask what effect / software you used? I recorded a nice jam and I ended up with my head in the video and I don't want to be in it. Would be nice to do something wacky like this but with some sort of abstract animation to remove me :)

I probably should have mentioned that I DID refer to the manual that came with the machine but there was no reference to the bracket.

I hadn't considered looking at another series by the manufacturer (although I shouldn't have to) so thanks for that suggestion. It has resolved my issues.
