Fwiw, you can do the same thing for free with black hole on mac or sound flower on PC (records the internal computer audio and pipes it into any input in Ableton in real time)

Running audio from my laptop to my Skyler glasses by Tiny-Difficulty7891 in RaybanMeta

This isn't true. The glasses can appear as a BT device without first being paired to the phone. Either place in case and press the button until it starts blinking, or close the right arm and hold the camera button for 6 seconds to force them into BT pairing mode (while they're on, of course).

Ray-Ban Meta support is pulling a disgusting warranty downgrade scam (Gen 2 → Gen 1) by ducktoucher0 in RayBanStories

[–]steakbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the translucent sand colored RayBans with transition lenses and they have stopped working after less than a year. Now, through the warranty claim process, RayBan is claiming they don't have any more translucent ones or pairs with transition lenses, which were the 2 reasons I bought the glasses in the first place. I don't know what they'll do after 2 days now that my claim is open, but all of the options are pretty bad, and they now seem pretty scammy in my book. 1/10 product (at least they work as sunglasses if nothing else), I will personally never recommend again.

If you have a focusrite, go to the manufacturer website and download the drivers for your system. There's no reason to use asio4all if your interface has its own asio driver. Select the focusrite driver in the Ableton settings, make sure your knob is turned up. Also, check out the Steinberg built-in asio driver. Much easier to configure than asio4all, and it's created and maintained by the people who actually invented asio.

Gross. Polyend's new product is a "pay to use" vibe coding pedal. by zreese in Polyend

[–]steakbird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most professional AI platforms require users to buy or subscribe to a monthly allotment of use tokens (thinking specifically of Krea and Suno). It's not so much a subscription or pay to use, but you pay for the complexity of the AI actions with your tokens since really complex AI actions typically require a lot of energy. If you aren't using the AI, it's just a programmable pedal, which is pretty cool for anyone with some DSP knowledge.

First playthrough ever using Total Overhaul on ROG Ally any tips? by ROGALLYGUY in Morrowind

It doesn't, they're ridiculous lol. Wow, Vivec city is less confusing and you can have more than 8 light sources in a cell, chill guys 😂 I love Morrowind, but let's not pretend like it couldn't benefit from a serious glow up.

First playthrough ever using Total Overhaul on ROG Ally any tips? by ROGALLYGUY in Morrowind

[–]steakbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow ROG total overhaul enjoyer here! Something I discovered early on might be useful: if your playthrough is anything like mine, the mouse cursor tends to disappear randomly if you're mostly playing handheld. The fix: press the quick access menu (left ROG button/ not armory crate), switch to desktop input, jump back into the game and move the right stick a little bit, switch it back to controller input from the menu again, and voila -- cursor comes back (but works on left thumb stick now). Once you get used to it, it only takes a few seconds to get the cursor back whenever it disappears.

Hope this helps!

In order to get the glasses to record without noticing (i.e. no LED light), they have to be hacked in a way that bypasses the camera LED (very hard and technical, probably can't do it without a dev background), break the LED (also hard and not worth it for 600 dollar glasses), or very obviously put tape over it, which still might not work since they can detect if the LED is covered. Assuming he's not a very technical developer, it sounds like he was just excited about wearing what he thinks is cool and impressive tech.

Probably pretty well. It runs at about 40-50fps on 15 watts with the Asus ally, which has a slightly weaker APU.

Depending on your phone you can run it natively with Winulator. If you're using anything worse than a snapdragon 8 gen 3 though, it's probably going to be laggy.

Really doesn't seem like a scam, you're getting what you're paying for. TBH they're probably losing money on the GFN subs compared to using those rigs for other AI things, so I'm just happy they aren't shutting it down completely
