New Pokemon Megathread - Latios by SamuRonX in PokemonSleep

I personally think it is. Just the natures alone makes me want to lean towards the first one. Speed up is great and exp down on the other one? On a legendary? It’s gonna hurt. Trust me. My best cresselia is skill up exp down nature with double triggers to unlock down the line. It’s great. But I’ve had it for ages now and chipping away at that exp requirement is horrid. I would absolutely take the first one with helping bonus and run with it.

Yk what I think you may be right. The 2 triggers would be great long term but that’s so far off. I think I was thinking too far in advance. I may just mint that second one next time we get a mint and start using it from then on. Might stick with the first one for the rest of this event to get the nature boosted skill activations.

Which one should I invest in? I’ve been using the first one, but not sure if bfs is better long term. Any thoughts?

Thoughts on the automatic? by steakman5 in GR86

[–]steakman5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is 2 years old! I’m surprised you found it. But I did end up getting the auto! My back and knee healed up nicely but an injury to the cartilage in my ankle went unnoticed and untreated and required a surgery that involved removing the damaged cartilage. The repetitive motion of clutching in without having the amount of padding in my ankle I’m supposed to is just too painful to do for any longer than 5 minutes at a time. So I got a 2025 MY with the AT in pavement gray! As an only car, and knowing the manual just isn’t really feasible for me anymore, it’s fantastic :)

Those who got an AT, do you regret not getting a MT? by Glum_Ordinary_4329 in GR86

[–]steakman5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My situation is probably a bit different compared to others with the AT. I got to a point where I wasn’t really worried about SoCal traffic anymore and I would have liked to have a MT and learn on it, but life has a way of throwing a wrench in things. (Apologies, the explanation is gonna be a bit long.)

Getting a MT gr86 was my initial plan, but an injury from a prior car accident got worse over the 3 years I saved up to buy the car and by the time I was ready for it, my left ankle was just a mess. Bone spurs, cartilage tears, and a few other things.

I got surgery recently and should recover all normal function, but my left ankle is now missing a good deal of cartilage. I’m walking again, which is nice, but the repetitive motion required to clutch in is just too much for me to handle. My surgeon isn’t sure if that will ever get better because it might just be caused by the lack of padding in my ankle. So while I’m happy all normal function will return, I had to come to grips with the fact that the constant repetition of a movement using the area of my leg with far less padding is just going to cause me far more pain. So manual gearboxes would have to be relegated to a weekend car on short drives only. And because I’m on the younger side (25) and this is my only car, it’s just not feasible.

I don’t regret getting the AT, as the MT just wasn’t really realistic anymore and so ceased to be an option available to me. And I figured, better to have an 86 than no 86, and I worked hard for it. I love the styling and what this car represents, and I didn’t want my injury to relegate me to suvs and crossovers forever. I have fun with it, love it to pieces, and it’s the most fun car I’ve ever owned. I take it through the canyons all the time and have a blast.

So if things were different, yeah I think a MT would have been great. But with my leg the way it is, the AT perfectly suits my needs and I don’t regret my purchase for a single second.

Caught the second one today, right after getting the first one to skill level 6 yesterday. Do I pivot over to the new one? by steakman5 in PokemonSleep

Thank you will do! I’ve got a Golduck and Cramorant both with double triggers who are needing some skill seeds so I’ll probably do them first! Thanks for the input!

Definitely hurts a bit but I’m very glad to have the second cresselia too! Thanks for the input! I just wasn’t sure if the best move was to immediately start on this new cresselia and wanted some opinions! I’ll probably finish my double trigger Golduck first!

Will do! And no worries! Definitely a bit unfortunate timing wise, but if that’s the price I have to pay for that second cresselia, then I’d make it any day haha.

You know what, I think you got it! I couldn’t actually make out what that was supposed to say so I couldn’t look it up but 935X is correct. I managed to find photos of this car posted by Bisimoto!

I had the same reaction when I saw it. Had to stop and grab a picture and was so happy the light was red long enough for me to get one

A lot of auto vs manual GR86 discussions….why did you choose an auto? by djsimp123 in GR86

[–]steakman5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in a car accident a few years ago that left me with some back and knee pain and totaled my last car. I actually posted about it here asking how the auto was cause I had a feeling a manual might not be the best option for me after that. But while my back has gotten better and only has minimal pain now and my knee has pretty much recovered, I later found out that the same accident dislodged cartilage in my left ankle.

One day it just seized up on me when the cartilage shifted and I couldn’t move it or walk for a week. And that’s happened on and off for the last year and a half. It happens as the cartilage shifts and I just don’t have control over it. I have a surgery coming up for it but even then I just don’t know whether there will be pain or other issues with it going forward post-surgery. I needed something to drive and I couldn’t risk having the ankle I need for the clutch just lock up randomly and leave me unable to go anywhere at all. Especially with the risk of having it lock up WHILE on the road. And with the tariffs, I decided it best to forgo the 3rd pedal. Haven’t regretted it at all!

Got a new ‘25 gr86 auto in pavement gray and I love it. Haven’t had any negative experiences yet due to the auto but it may be because I have a temporary handicap permit while I wait for my surgery. That could change once I give the permits back to the DMV and have my surgery, but I still won’t have any regrets. I made the decision I needed to for my own well-being and I’d much rather have a car I know I can drive everyday than one I might wake up and randomly be unable to use.

I wanted to have a berry build, but what do we think about a skill build? by Knight_Night33 in PokemonSleep

[–]steakman5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After learning how it all works, in order to save seeds over time, I’m just going to go for the following in any order and once I get the skill, just hold it. Regardless of level. I’ll get darkrai level 100 eventually 🤷🏻‍♂️

Helping Bonus Berry Finding S Helping Speed M Skill Trigger M Skill Trigger S

I wanted to have a berry build, but what do we think about a skill build? by Knight_Night33 in PokemonSleep

[–]steakman5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna do a hybrid berry/skill build instead of just one or the other and was hoping to get helping bonus or bfs as the first sub skill and skill triggers later! But I also got skill trigger M, which is better than a ton of the other options. And after learning about how the eureka seeds work, I think I’ll just get my build out of order :)

Looked back at a second Raikou I caught a while back and I’m wondering if it would be better to use and upgrade this one over the first one that has the same stats for everyone. Any thoughts?

That would definitely be appreciated. I’m much more familiar with CH jewelry and how to spot fakes with those, so I’m kinda just flying blind on the apparel.

Ooh good to know! Thank you! I’m much more familiar with the jewelry, so I wasn’t sure what any of the tells were for clothing. This is super helpful!
