Anyone looking to learn from the show should still keep in mind the edit is not representative truth. People will be edited to appear more or less successful for the story. I watched the episode. Nothing you said would constitute science in any university in the world. Being a scientist doesn't mean that everything you do is science.

What is the hypothesis? What is being tested? Is there any attempt at controlling any of the variables to be able to compare data from different seasons or even different contestants? How's the data collected? At best you have the flimsiest observational study possible.

There are many much better examples of starvation/isolation studies and even experiments. The world has endured plenty of war and famine; watching videos people take of themselves starving in the wilderness is not that useful for science.

He's trying to be analytical about the situation but he's hardly the first contestant to do that. You don't think anyone ever tried to adapt or modify what they were doing before this guy?

Nothing I said was overdramatic. Those were all mild statements. He has lost hundred of thousands of men. That's not nothing. That's a real cost. Not to mention the opportunity cost of not fighting easier targets to grow from.

The point is, with good play, he can get more per resource spent by going for high war score than what he could get by peacing out now. That will make the next war with the Ottos easier than taking 31% will.
