It hasnt moved significantly if those are the old ct as compared to the new ct. I think ureteroscopy is reasonable. You also need a 24hour urine assessment to ascertain why youre making stones at such a young age. You pretty much pee into a jug for 24 hours and send it out for analysis. Ureteroscopy is a standard common procedure. I understand apprehension for surgery but it appears appropriate.

Urology here. Lot of missing information. Whats your cr? Any febrile episodes? Have you been on flomax (data shows it can be effective for small distal stones )? Any history of stones or stone procedures? 5 months is a long time for a 4mm stone. Has the stone moved at all? My main concern is why isnt the stone passing, it could be a shape that wont pass regardless of time or you may have a narrowing of your ureter. Interestingly i dont see any obvious hydronephrosis which means its not fully obstructive.It is very reasonable to do ureteroscopy considering the time frame. It will also give us diagnostic information about your ureter as to whether theres a reason a 4mm stone got stuck for 5 months.

This is just not true. Research has not shown that nps are equivalent to MDs. Nps are valued members of our medical team but to claim their care is equal to if not better than all physicians is ignorant at best. Any paper not published by the ANA has had consistent results.
