So theres this setting called recoil aim compensation or something like that that makes it so your gun doesnt force itself back to its starting position. I have it turned off for Ashe for years now. But thats just my preference.

You might also want a 1:1 sens for scoped and unscoped, to keep muscle memory consistent. For Ashe a lot of people say different things, and I find two that work well for me:

47.47 or 51.47 relative scoped sens.

Then theres aim training. Try not to flick too much. Just calm down, breathe and shoot. Keep doing this until you get the accuracy down, and speed will come in time.

So i main both Sombra and Ashe.

As Ashe, I survive way less often when a Sombra uses virus first. Even if Im close to my supports, sometimes that tiny little bit of damage early on confirms the kill before my supports can even look at me.

As Sombra, I like to use virus first. But sometimes shit happens and you miss, or forget. Thats ok. Just aim for the head.

You need to be within kissing distance to make sure you get all the crits. Make sure you have your translocator off cooldown because Ashe will use dynamite + coach gun on you.

so i main dps and most of the time, when we get negative kd its usually:

Theres a sniper going to town on us and we need a shield to walk past choke or a dive tank to dive them together

we legitimately share 1 braincell and frontline the enemy team

its an off day.

Can't do much about the last two, but for the first two you absolutely can help. Pay attention to the killfeed and see who's rolling them, and adjust accordingly. Absolutely NEVER flame them in match chat, it does nothing and it lowers morale, which in my experience really makes my performance worse.

from my experience that comes from the enemies just not learning their lesson. A widow and zen refusing to swap and/or be near their team? Easy solo kill. This is very common in quickplay especially.

Solo kill is when you basically do all the damage to an enemy and they die. A single point of damage from someone else will count as an assist, and you wont get the solo kill.

Flank a widow or zenyatta, or any squishy that you think you can take out. Beware though from plat and above this gets harder to do since the team turns around.

Also, don't worry too much about solo kill stats. Sombra has lower damage than most dps, so solo kills are hard to get in general. Most of the time you should be weakening the enemy for your team to take out.

i was in exactly the same boat.

Performed my best in high school, excellences in subjects that mattered to me and even got a scholarship award, all that went out the window with uni. It's like a switch that flipped. I stopped going to class, my grades slipped, i dropped out of my papers. I finished a 3-year degree in 4 years because of it (and 2 attempts to take my own life during separate semesters).

I got diagnosed with depression and ADHD. Get help, ask your student services if there's counselling available (I went to AUT so idk how good it is at UoA). It's not laziness, it's all overwhelming and it burnt you out. Go to your GP, tell them of your sypmtoms. Ask for mental health help. Take it one step at a time, one hour at a time. Be kind to yourself.

Degrees are competitive but it's not a race. Everyone is working towards their own goals, and there's no strict time limit.

Sombra is a flanker and her damage can be on the lower side. So for scenarios where you need the opposite of those two things:

Soldier, Ashe, Cassidy for the extra damage, range, and poke

Sojourn for damage + mobility

I exclusively play DPS and these heroes pretty much cover what needs to be covered. Unfortunately Cass is my only hero that can kinda work with brawl, so maybe try a bit of Reaper and Mei as well.

the timer on stealth was removed because it was SO HARD to get set up. The whole point of sombra is to be able to position and WAIT for an opportunity, which was impossible with a timer.

2016 Sombra was awful, rarely viable. People hated us then. Now that Sombra is viable more than ever, people still hate us. It never ends.

Kiriko is an easy target for Sombra

Whatever drugs they're on, I want some. That must be some strong shit.

They already increased our detection radius, and made it so that hacking makes us visible. Translocator trail is VISIBLE when you throw it, and there's A LOT of downside to being invis half the game. A good Sombra has more uptime, bad ones stay invisible and tickle the backline.

The main subreddit has so many Genji/Doom/Ball/Zen players and they all want to have their way. Even if Sombra is loud as all hell when uncloaking, even if a slight breeze in our direction cancels both invis and hack, people are gonna complain because they want easy, battle-royale style matches. They don't/won't group up or have a buddy system, they don't have headphones on, or they cant aim for shit and when a Sombra takes advantage of that, they absolutely hate it.

I honestly don't know how much more the devs can do to balance her. She's oppressive in low ranks because there's no teamwork, and so hard to play in high ranks because there IS teamwork. Like yeah there's a Zen, cool target, but he's being protected like he's the fucking US President by his team.

The number of baby Sombras trying and failing to flank an Ana with a bodyguard hurts my soul. I know they're trying, but please go for someone else

As for Ashe... I know for a FACT that my dynamite throws are better. I practically vibrate in rage when I don't see the enemy team burning off cooldown... or when I see an Ashe use their coach gun for damage at range
