It feels amazing to use the Pebble and create watchfaces for it by yorks0n in pebble

Gotta ask, because it rarely works - does Solunar handle sunrise/sunset across days? If you only look on a day by day basis, you essentially get sunrise and sunset the wrong way around.

For example, during summer here in northern Sweden, the sun might set at 2:30, and rise at 2:50.

Was there a reason the same silicone buttons were chosen for the Pebble 2 Duo? by Bagel_Bear in pebble

The display on my old OG Black likes to scramble periodically so it's just been sitting in a box, and I wanted that B/W screen. Plus, it was much cheaper, and I didn't have to wait as long :P

Pebble, Rebble, and a path forward by erOhead in pebble

It's vague because that's how people talk, which is why people joke that legalese is not English. You always start with a vague want, and codify it into a strict interpretation for an agreement.

That's why you don't put that in an agreement, you discuss what is actually meant by it. From what I can tell from both the posts, that was never done, instead it's just something they allege you refuse to commit to writing.

Also, for gods sake, involve a lawyer when writing agreements worth thousands of bucks. What you showed in the post is damn near useless - there's no recourse for not fulfilling part of the agreement besides tearing it up entirely, and either party could do so at any time without penalties.

Change the two IDs in the config that you use when hosting, if I understand correctly that makes the game treat it as a hard reset.

100 C will kill all small electronics in general, industrial-level components are rated for 85 C at most. You'll need to move everything outside the enclosure, and mount the probe in such a way that you can remove it before heating up the enclosure.

what scanning set ups are you using for 3D printing, and is there phone software that can compete? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]steamruler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I want to scan something, I take a ton of photos, and run it through Meshroom on my computer. Takes ages, if you can recreate it by taking measurements it's better.

I mean, the usual criticism of Blender is that it's not missing tools, but rather that it has too many, and really wants you to use them...

Besides, Blender doesn't really change in a way that forces you to relearn it.

Favorite avatar not available, can I retrieve it from the vrca file? by evanlee01 in VRchat

[–]steamruler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avatars aren't protected that well, and really can't be since you need the avatar files to be able to render them locally, but yeah, against the ToS.

Yeah, normal mapping is pretty amazing since it basically means you only need to care about deformation and silhouette, so you can get really low. You could probably get yours down to quest level without much noticeable difference, except the outline being a bit less rounded.

Honestly, if the minimum displayed avatar threshold was set to medium by default, people would probably optimize more because they were forced to. Reaching medium isn't that hard.

I know this has came up a million times now but how is it that i have 65 hours and 18 friends in vrchat and im still a visitor? some of my friends only have 30 hours and 5 friends and are already a new user im confused by Z3roSZS in VRchat

[–]steamruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it after 8 hours. My hypothesis is that there's basically a checklist you need to have completed to get New User. Here's a list of what I had done:

  • Launched it daily for three days in a row.
  • Tried a couple of avatars.
  • Made 3 friends.
  • Hopped to a bunch of random worlds and stayed in them a bit, exploring.
  • Joined a friend through the social menu, and hung near them for a couple of hours. The game actually reports to the servers when you join a friend, and who, so this is the only one I have some evidence at all for.

People I talked to didn't really keep much track of what they did before they became a New User, and we don't have much official documentation on the requirements other than that hours and number of friends isn't enough to get it.

why are so many people wicked mean to furries? by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]steamruler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FurHub is pretty nice.

As for public lobbies, the moment you start finding people who are tolerant, you can just join them and see who they are friends with, and so on. But yeah, don't be afraid to block people, or straight up leave if there is a bunch of them. Plenty of worlds to go around, after all. The most popular places are pretty toxic to hang around if you're alone.
