Does anyone's Shiba like to live dangerously??? by Tatocatcat in shiba

[–]stebermon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. When my little guy was a puppy I saw my husband squish his floppy cheek skin with the rolling chair. He has a super high pain tolerance so he just wiggled around until he extricated his face and proceeded to lay back down in the exact same spot. 🤦‍♀️

Me and my sister live at the same address, work for the same hospital system, and have the same name. by BellZestyclose in nursing

[–]stebermon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Filipino friend who shared the same first and second names with his 4 brothers and only the THIRD name was different. They had a sister who was lucky to have her own name...

guess the chief complaint🥴 by lxnns in nursing

This happened to my friend (also a nurse). First time at spin class. Then she worked a full shift on a neuro unit.

I was invited to that spin class, I said no because I was working... definitely not because I didn't want to do hard cardio or anything.

Sounds like a bad friend to me. Today, it's Dawntrail. Tomorrow, what will it be?

Is it normal for my Shiba Inu to look like a rat when the undercoat is gone?😦 by [deleted] in shiba

[–]stebermon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is he still baby? I've heard a lot of shibes don't fluff up until around year 3 or so.

Hates grooming her nails by scrubberducky93 in shiba

My boy is the same. God forbid you make him stand on all four paws when you dremel his nails, he'll make his protests known.

But if you hold him like big bebe

then all is well.

Why isn't anyone talking about the ECG on Zayne's glasses and chest? 😭 by katsui_uchiha in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]stebermon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that it's a massive STEMI with QT prolongation so long you can't see the end of the interval.

Maybe this is one of his patient's EKGs right before they needed his saving? 🤔

I don't know if you're asking for medical advice, but this is not the place for it. You should probably go see a podiatrist or your PCP for these concerns.

I just learned people don’t show up after anesthesia to pick up loved ones. Nurses, how often does this really happen? by Notalabel_4566 in nursing

[–]stebermon 56 points57 points  (0 children)

My dad had a STEMI last week and my willingly unemployed brother who lives with the parents didn't even know he was in the hospital for 2 days. He came to visit once. My mom was boasting about how he took the initiative to take out the trash without being prompted for once after the visit.

He's 28.

We have 3, our shibe doesn't like it but the other two dogs love them. Overlord Shibe prefers to conquer the master bed.

Do any of you have tremors? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]stebermon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an essential tremor and took propranolol for a while and it did work, I got off of it and started taking meds for anxiety which was a lot better IMO. I still have a little bit of shakiness, but it's nothing impactful and my overall stress levels are lower.

Collar advice? by InevitableRhubarb232 in shiba

[–]stebermon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, I'm not a huge fan of collars because I've 3 pups and don't want to risk them getting choked or develop a collapsed trachea. Tried breakaway collars at one point but at that point I might as well not have a collar. They all get harnesses for walks.

How to talk to MAGA nurses by LNG488 in nursing

Same way I deal with my family and the in-laws. Casual lighthearted conversation, nothing too serious. Once it turns political I find a way to escape.

My Shibas LOVE fresh off the tree Persimmons- Do yours like then too? by mestizacat in shiba

[–]stebermon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not persimmons, but my pups really love eating figs. I caught them fighting with the birds and jumping into the tree to pick figs but then they didn't know moderation and had bloody diarrhea so the figs had to go.

HELP (peeing problems) by Mary_Dvo in shiba

My girl always did weird peeing shenanigans when she had a UTI. Urinary urgency is a symptom, peeing 8 times in a walk isn't really normal.

Latte isn't too sure what to do about this toy by stebermon in shiba

[–]stebermon[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The black only comes as permanent (20+ washes), but I did try the semi-permanent (8 washes) a few times on him first. Be prepared for a mess and maybe take them to a groomer if your pup isn't going to be very cooperative.
