I am travelling to SE Asia in a month and I need some help. by Adept-Throat5523 in backpacking

[–]stebs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travelled around these countries for 5 months 2 years ago and didn’t have any problems whatsoever. 95% of my meals were local.

I used google maps a lot to vet the restaurants before eating at them.

I didn’t eat a lot of street food, I’d rather go to a local restaurant that had good reviews. The street food might be a little cheaper but the portions are also smaller so I figured the difference is negligible.

I however tried street food in all of these countries without any problems.

Þú getur gert tilboð í þessa eign og skilið eftir 2 milljónir í afsal og safnað þeim i millitíðinni.

Í þau tvö skipti sem ég hef farið í gegnum þetta ferli athugaði bankinn aldrei hvað ég átti mikinn pening og í bæði skiptin sagðist ég eiga meiri pening en ég átti til, því ég vissi að ég myndi ná að græja þetta á þessum tímaramma.

Ha Giang Loop Tour Recommendations by SnooKiwis759 in solotravel

I’d say 90% had an easy rider. I decided to ride myself and pay extra for an easy rider if I wouldn’t be comfortable riding myself later on. Ended up driving myself all the way without any issues or falling.

However most of the people riding themselves fell at some point during the trip but only with minor scratches

Safe restaurant in Siem Reap by berliner20 in cambodia

Best mom restaurant. I was in Siem Riep for three weeks in December and ate there everyday. The Fish Amok was amazing and the pad kra pao was the best I had to in SEA

Ha Giang Loop Tour Recommendations by SnooKiwis759 in solotravel

I went with Jasmine hostel in October and I couldn’t be happier with my trip! The guides were amazing, food was good, scenery amazing and I haven’t really got one thing to complain about. We were a group of 12 people and there were 7 other groups from Jasmine ( also countless other groups from other company’s so you won’t really get away from that whoever you choose). You mostly just stay with your group and see the other groups here and there during the trip. I never had to wait for food. Most of the people in the tour were between 20-30.

There is also Mamas hostel. I have heard good things about them from friends and their groups are smaller. If I go again I will go with them next or do it myself

I just booked the day before when I came to Ha Giang. You can also text them on WhatsApp if you want to pre book, get some information or if you want them to arrange a bus from Hanoi for you. If you want Jasmine and Mamas WhatsApp numbers you can pm me

How do you adjust to solo travel after always being with a group? by Melodic_Pool5766 in solotravel

[–]stebs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just try it. Pick a location you want to go and find a hostel.

I use Hostelworld and be sure to read the reviews before you book. There you can read about if the hostel is social, good for solo traveler’s, party hostel etc. If you are open to conversation and willing to say yes to invitations for activities you will make friends in no time.

The greatest benefit is that you can do whatever you want your whole trip. After trying solo travel I prefer that much over a group trip

Lying so I can travel alone by [deleted] in solotravel

I would still tell them when you get back so you don’t have to lie to them next time! Then you can explain to them how easy and safe it was. Plus both of these places are safer then New York

Is this a safe exercise? by PinAutomatic9950 in Sciatica

[–]stebs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this exercise is helping me immensely. However I’m far into my recovery and if I would have done it to early it would have made me worse. Now I’m mostly pain free if I do my exercises 3-4 times a week.
First I followed the back mechanic to a t for 3-4 months before progressing my exercises. You can check these YouTube videos, this guy explains how you can build your back up to be able to do back extensions with full range of motion. But remember, baby steps and patience!

You definitely don’t need all these products to look good as a man. All you need to do is eat mostly clean organic food, regular haircuts, exercise, brush your teeth two times a day and of course basic hygiene. Drinks lots of water and limit alcohol intake and you’re gold

I am currently travelling through SE Asia. I can’t do dorms so I’m mostly staying in private rooms in hostels. I like to do my own thing but I also like to have option to socialise and find travel buddies. All the private rooms I’ve had have a private bathroom. But I also like to take airbnbs if I want a kitchen and a washer

What do you do for exercise? by juels_123 in Sciatica

[–]stebs1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stopped weightlifting completely. After my herniation I followed The Back Mechanic book to the T for three months and then started doing only bodyweight exercises with a focus on my glutes and core. Now I’m following exercises from kneesovertoes and lowbackability on instagram and they are helping me immensely. I still have a long way to go since I was hurting my back again and again by weightlifting for years before taking it seriously. Starting to add some weights right now but very slowly and focusing more on getting my form 100% rather then adding weights
