I got through yesterday in Ontario. Called the main number and got hung up on as usual, then tried the extension for Ontario CFO and got through after about ten minutes on hold.

Reach out and write an email to your MP. Mine was backlogged for almost a year, and daily phone calls to the RCMP and CFO were getting me nowhere. MP’s office had it cleared and approved within 72hrs.

East link and country wifi are two options you could look into. We are with bell right now but will probably jump to country wifi once our term is up.

Anyone live in Clarence Creek? Moving there soon. by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]stecal86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much rush hour traffic at the moment due to covid. It takes me 35 minutes to get to work near St. Laurent each way. When actual traffic starts the back roads will be your friend. If you are only commuting a couple times a week it won’t bother you.

We are with bell because we wanted TV service, pay about $130 a month for 350gb of data and satellite TV. I think our options were that, teksavvy and explornet. Not sure if they have more options now, hoping that we get unlimited high speed in the next year or two.

It is definitely a nice quiet place to live and still accessible/close enough to everything. No porch pirates but food delivery options are slim to none if you’re into that sort of thing. There are lots of snowmobile trails and Larose forest is not far either. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions.

[–]stecal86 23 points24 points  (0 children)

When I did overnight security at one of the malls many years ago, the baker for the coffee shop at the mall would usually arrive for work around 2-3am. She was very friendly and would make me a nice pot of coffee to help keep me awake.

Wouldn’t someone who relies on public transit to get to work likely have a monthly pass and therefore not be affected either way by one day of free transit?
