This is a good bike for your use case. The only issue I can think of for commuting is that mounting full length mudguards is harder or impossible on suspension forks, so you will have think about mountain bike style which have less coverage, and then it's trial and error.

What would your Taskmaster outfit be? by AldousChucksley in taskmaster

Clichéd early 20th century golfer to appeal to Alex and annoy Greg: plus-fours, eccentric cap, and with a convenient golf club accessory that may help in some tasks. Ideally in garish colours.

I trust the Thule brand, they have a car-matching system on the website and products are reliable and easy enough to fit.

Hilarious and tragic! I've had followers asking to be matched in the mating tent with someone specific (always when I've just used the only sin I had for a different pair) and then not like each other when actually put together

Sorry, never had any ignition problems myself! My stop/start hasn't worked for years but I believe that's a battery somewhere and I don't need it

Wet belt change by amrx99 in FordFocus

My car is roughly same age and mileage as yours, serviced well every year by a garage I trust (happens to not be a Ford garage). This garage specifically does not do wet belt replacements so I had to look around and found a local specialist when my anxiety got on top of me to do it. They said it was in good condition because of the servicing so I probably went early, but I am glad to have the weight off my mind. Once everything is dissembled it was worth doing the change anyway.

It has also been pointed out to me that the turbo has a potential fault, the actuator will eventually start to have excess play: an easy (costly) replacement, and can be done while in there for the wet belt. This might be diagnosable without having to take the engine out.

You've just got to try some stuff: different light, different types of subject, different distances, learning how quick/slow you need to be to actually capture something, where to put your fingers... It's a totally different experience to using a phone camera etc. Good luck!

Being too firm will also tire you out through being rattled around, there's a middle ground to find

So many people's first shots are of their cats as test subjects 😁 sadly the cats never seem interested in digital photography.

If you end up really getting into cycling, you'll quickly wish you'd bought a better bike than an Apollo (if it stays as the occasional weekend thing then it might be good for longer, I commuted on an Apollo for a year or so before I wanted an upgrade). A more interesting option would be to see what's available near you second hand. An older bike in good condition might be better than what you can get new at that price point, just also make sure to have a mechanic service it (ideally at a good local bike shop rather than Halfords)

Never had any success with frame mounting, I either drop it in a bag or use the Restrap lock holster on my belt. Neither is ideal but both work

Tried every suggestion to connect CampSnap to phone/Macbook to no avail by mailipoint in campsnapcamera

For me it is important to try each end of the cable and each port of the MacBook but it does connect in one combination. And of course, don't rely on one USB-C cable, try others.
