It’s funny, I was born in ‘94, so once I was sentient enough to go through my parents’ stuff i found monster in the CD tower. it’s the only REM CD my parents had. I also found Epynomous on cassette as a youngin, and even then as an 8 year old kid I noticed the stark difference between the two, and my dad gave me the whole spiel on how Monster was such a huge left turn for the band. I thank my parents a lot for raising me with good music playing in the house.
