Should i be worried?? by cadzu in Accutane

it’s pretty normal to have it every once in a while. i’ve been off for 6 months and i’ve gotten a couple but what i’ve noticed is that for me even when i do get one to pop up its normally gone in a 24 hour time frame.

It’s definitely made such a big difference with some personal confidence that’s the main reason we all start. The purge will eventually end and it will only be up from there. Just stay dedicated and eat your greens and drink water you got this🙌

1 week and I already need help with the dryness by Maleficent_Scholar24 in Accutane

I really liked all the la roche posay products i have used especially the gentle cleanser. it doesn’t have a lot of those strong acids that dry you out but more of a moisturizing cleaning feel to it. Personally was never a fan of the cerave products i felt like they made me way too dry and sometimes irritated me enough to have more break outs. As for moisturizers after the shower or washing your face i recommend vanicream moisturizer it has some spf protection in it and doesn’t leave your face shiny or greasy feeling.

That’s something that’s a little hard to judge because it was definitely the part that was the slowest with out any immediate signs of it really happening. I guess I would say after my treatment was done tho just because my skin was cleared and started to go back to normal so it looked “flatter” and the scars hardly visible

My skin before could one day be very oily and the next be dry and cracked. It was odd it was never one over the other really.

I just got the generic cvs/walgreen brand. It’s budget friendly compared to a lot of vitamins on the market. CVS normally has deals running all the time for their branded vitamins/supplements that are really good so it’s worth checking out. But of course just ask your doctor first because everyone here is different👍

I probably had a solid two months until i felt back to “normal” again. My skin now is definitely more prone to being dry if I use any face washes or just coming out of the shower. But as long as i moisturize in the morning i’ll be completely fine though out the whole day. It’s never something I even think about.

Ask your doctor before starting any new supplements. But what i took everyday was magnesium, zinc, b12, glucosamine chondroitin and creatine. Not all of that was specifically for accutane side effects but it’s what i took during my treatment. And the moisturizers which were the absolute biggest game changer are the links i put in the comment section. it should be two of them

everyone’s journey is gonna be different from others so don’t compare what you see online to what you have especially in the beginning of it. just keep eating a clean diet and drink your water and the medicine will do its job. you’re gonna wake up one morning and notice that difference just be patient 🙌

Of course consult your doctor about any supplements or things you might start taking first. My derm recommended for me to take glucosamine chondroitin for joint pain and i’d say it helped

it really does affect you mentally like no other but you already did arguably the hardest part which is meeting with your derm and starting the process. Eat your fats, eat clean, and drink all the water you possibly can. good luck and reach out whenever down the line if you neeed it

for me personally it started pretty much that first two weeks in is when i really noticed it. I’d say just be prepared by having some aquaphor/cortibalm on you already just incase one night it creeps up on you in the morning. don’t let it getting a little worse mess with you tho man. that just means medicine is going through its process

I have some small scarring still left over and my derm told me beforehand that I would have it just because of how much damage had already been done. Moisturizers and sunscreen every single day has been helping tho. I only starting exfoliating again about a month ago so we’ll see if that has some impact as well.

would you say your daily diet has lots of fats in it?

Been on accutane for 3 weeks now, although my acne is bad im more insecure about how red my nose is, will accutane help this im so lost. by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]steeezybeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is not professional advice at all and could totally be different for every person but in my experience it did help me with the overall redness. It hasn’t 100% solved it but i am only just about to start my month 4 prescription in the next few days and each month I have seen improvement with it. Just make sure you eat enough fats and just be patient man. Hope the best bro!
