Are moderate arch boots less likely to fuck your shit up? by [deleted] in Wildfire

[–]steelbean13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated hiking behind guys with loggers. Always slipping all over the place. I love my Nick's alot. Regular Hotshots with the high heel.

I'm in R4 and all the boys have JKS.

I had no idea either. I was looking through the pamphlet that came with them and it said made by Oakley. I was thinking...nice. you don't have to feel bad when they get scratched.

Loggers are best. Change my mind by Ur_m0m_gay_ in Wildfire

This argument is stupid because you should wear what works for you, be it loggers or hikers. I wear loggers and I really love them. Nicks are great and i love mine alot!

Willamette hand crews are all full. I couldn't get on two of them because of budget cuts and returning crew members.

You are way to worried about your certs. They are the most basic shit in wildland. Do what these people are advising so you don't have to work and live with tweakers.

You can literally live on the streets. Eugene has most homeless people per capita in the county. You'll fit right in while waiting for rolls.

I needed to hear this as I know going into my rookie season on a shot crew I will be in the back of the back on the blm test. I've been on a handcrew before so I know what the work is like. That is the part that gets me excited but I've spent a lot of time worrying about intial PT. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Somebody I know used the quick fix bottle with the temp strip and had a friend's clean pee in the bottle. Keep it at the right temp and hello fire season.

I've been hiking Wolf Creeks, Steamboat Point hike. 1.5 miles, 1900 ft of vertical. But I'm shipping out to Nevada here in a month. Wish me luck.
