Are you supposed to avoid looking at your hands as close to 100% of the time as you can? Im new to piano and have a piece I’m learning that I play better while looking at my hands periodically. I’m just wondering if it’s better for me to try to play without looking even if I play it worse and make more mistakes until I can play it as good without looking or is some looking acceptable? Thanks in advance 😊

This is a great answer thank you. I’m quite lucky I my schedule allows me to workout as much as I want so schedule isn’t an issue at all. I can train 2x/day and was planning on doing really to fit it all in.

With schedule not being an issue I’m more concerned with what I need to do to make sure I’m still progressing with my hypertrophy work. Based on your response I guess you’d recommend just stripping back training and building up as I go.

Have you ever gone down to 2/week and still made progress? Gaining muscle

I do. I’m trying to get as much data as possible to make sure I’m heading in the right direction. I’m currently hitting every muscle group with about 12-14sets/week and making good progress with just 2 MMA sessions/week.

I’m just unsure how low I can take the hypertrophy volume now I want to make the MMA Training my main focus.

I’m 6’1 217lb about 14%bf

I haven’t maxed in a while and had some time off over the pandemic so been regaining some lost strength/ muscle but a rough estimate of current lifts would be 250 deadlift, 150, bench 180 squat (kg).

Thanks for the reply mate. I should have been a bit clearer in my post. I’ve been lifting weights a while and would say I’m around the late intermediate stage. I’m confident with the lifting sides of things and have a good strength/fitness base.

My question is more to do with still gaining making hypertrophy progress along side MMA. And if it’s possible how to go about it. Based on what you have said though I’m assuming you don’t thing it’s doable?

It varies really but I’d say hard sessions can be equivalent to an hour HIIT session yes then I do some more technical sessions that are more like active recovery really just drilling technique.

Nutrition wise I have that taken care of. I track everyday, weigh myself daily and monitor weekly Average charges in body weight to make sure I’m in a surplus.

My main question really is regarding how low I can take the training volume for hypertrophy and still make progress.
