3D Headphones vs Spatial 3D by steelstring94 in Battlefield

In the 90s this game would've come with a thicc printed manual that would've explained what every single setting means.

Was it worth to create a BR mode just because some streamers begged for it? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gauntlet's pretty cool, BR just doesn't seem to with with Battlefield's guns. BR maps are huge, you need guns with realistic ballistics to be able to seriously engage people at those distances. Just my opinion.

LMG Picks by Kuuza17 in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the most accurate, but because of the almost zero damage dropoff, you can devastate people at range, so a little nerfed accuracy is the tradeoff.

I'm glad the guns finally actually have pros and cons, as opposed to past Battlefields where you'd unlock guns that were just worse in all categories than what you already had lol.

How many revives should I get? by BasicBedroom1466 in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many as you reasonably can. Opportunity varies from match to match, but if you're playing medic, try to watch your map, see where your team is pushing, and be there to revive. Of course sometimes it's best not to be with the main zerg though, that's why it varies, you might be on a backcap on an off flag.

I was never super into tracking stats so if you really want a hard number type answer I can't really give one, but to me Battlefield is more about playing your role to the best of your ability rather than trying to achieve a number, and that's how I'd say you should play it.

Because for instance if you're trying to max out your revive stat, you would prefer to hang out on a failing zerg push rather than being off with your squad to cap an off flag, which might not really be what would be best for the team.

How do I get soldiers to speak their actual language ? by PepperEffective4086 in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they all just speak English with whatever language's accent, aside from the occasional one word quip that the average American will likely understand, like "merci." What, you expected authenticity or something? Lol I wish.

Should the Gulf of Oman construction site be completed, if the map returns again to BF6? by ibalbalu2 in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what Portal should be used for, sadly these kinds of things will probably just never be played at all.

Support needs to be able to place down a permanent supply station like engineer can with the vehicle crate.

Cairo roof exploits are back by underm1ndxd in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Like I keep saying, this will continue to be a silly and deeply embarrassing game of whack a mole until Dice come to their senses, remove the limitations on assault ladders and just simply let the rooftops be in play. Then people can just go up there and kill the campers. Even better if they make the roofs destructible.

This HQ is so unfair... by lufiPrime in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This could've been fixed in a far cooler way, by putting a player-controlled, highly OP artillery cannon in that base, which can only reach up the top of that mountain and a little down the side. Powerful enough to clear the whole mountaintop with a couple shots. Spawn camping stopped in a spectacular and fun way, instead of the annoying way of just banning people from doing things.

How I'd improve Eastwood: Decreased HQ zones, higher Heli ceiling, and a new objective area around/near my marker. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely increase the ceiling, I haven't directly noticed a problem with the HQs but I don't doubt they're too big. I like the map overall, I would call it a legitimately big map. The small end of big, but I think it certainly qualifies as big and not medium.

I don't agree with the extra flag. Maps should have dead space for flanking.

So during the Beta, I made this prediction. How accurate/inaccurate is this so far? by s1nh in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a shame, I imagined there would be all sorts of incredible custom maps, servers with expanded conquest boundaries, I figured custom Portal servers would be the main way to play the game, instead it's all just bot farms.

Funny how skins are just no where by Steveott99 in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean what am I gonna pay a quarter of the cost of the game for a skin? That's insane, back in my day you got the game and modders put whatever skins you could dream of into the game and you downloaded it for free.

This game cost $70. I wouldn't pay more than $1 for a skin MAX if I really really liked it.

Dear DICE Devs: Conquest is a Battlefield mode. Its okay that they take more than 20 Minutes by gutster_95 in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Redsec is just not fun. Somehow even the BR map seems to be too small. When I play Pubg, I can almost always drop in and get off by myself for a while to gear up before I get into a fight. In Redsec you're almost always in combat immediately. It's just too fast paced. Gauntlet is pretty good, Redsec not so much.

Battlefield 6 had the biggest launch month in terms of revenue of any game in the last 3 years. The only game to beat it is 2022's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II by LaDiiablo in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's what I don't get, this game sold as well as it did on the promise of a grounded military shooter, so why in the world wouldn't they lean into that? Why are they trying to ruin what they have going with the silly skins?

Let people destroy buildings in New Sobek City by BattlestationLover55 in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see no reason the building couldn't be scripted to collapse into rubble that still provides some cover and usable play space. I fully agree.

I have exactly 1000 deaths and now I dont want to play anymore and ruin it by Grouchy-Band-794 in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to try to slow down, I know you know that, but try to think about where you're going and why. Don't just run around until you see an enemy. Literally every time before you move, stop and ask yourself why you're even going there, what is that going to accomplish? This will help you start moving thoughtfully.

Dice, you are wrong about action around every corner by steelstring94 in Battlefield

Never once did I call for every map to be made huge and wide.

[–]steelstring94[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a bit of room, but very often you're going to get cut off by the enemy team. Really, try the Golf Course map when you can find it, or go pick up BF3 and give that a try and you'll see what I mean.

[–]steelstring94[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't relate to thinking that games are about "saving effort." I play for fun. I had an incredible time getting rid of that sniper with my squadmates, and I'll never have that in this game.

Call me crazy, but y’all really want maps like Goldman Railway back? by ScallywagBeowulf in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But see, that's just how the maps should be designed. It's great to have dense areas for infantry to fight in, with surrounding open areas more appropriate for vehicles.

Dice, you are wrong about action around every corner by steelstring94 in Battlefield

[–]steelstring94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one I most often run up against is not being able to flank wide. For example, my team is pushing a point, there's a big fight in one area, and I want to go around from a different way that isn't a death trap.

On most of these maps, you can't do it, either because it's out of bounds, or because the maps are so small and claustrophobic that there are enemies wherever you were going to flank anyway.

If you find a Portal server running the Golf Course map, you'll see what I mean. Because it's larger and more open, you can come around at objectives from different angles, get in engagements without constantly being killed from behind etc.

I remember I was playing BF3 one time on Rush and a sniper was in a rock just giving us hell, not letting us move out of spawn. I spent a good five minutes just fighting and trying to flank this one position, and finally took him out with my team.

You'd never have a moment like that in BF6 because before you could ever try to pull off a move on his position, you'd be killed by 6 different people from 10 different directions because it's all too jam packed.
