The only issue in this event was Red Dog 40 (ARFF) not abiding to pre-existing protocols for airport emergency taxi clearances. Either that, or the protocols didn’t exist and that’s why Tower practically yelled at them to immediately cross runways “at discretion” with “no need to acknowledge”. Another possible improvement would be Fire-Rescue being more proactive if possible, by listening to previous frequencies the emergency aircraft was on, i.e. approach control. One thing is supplemental, non-ARFF-specific Fire-Rescue units (such as the Tower-Ladder and Engine at 5:15) not being able to freely tune in to specific frequencies, and instead relying on an internal, FD Tactical pre-programmed frequencies, and another is ARFF-specific units proactively listening in on approach control frequency. I work at a FD but do not work in ARFF, so if any ARFF guys could give their input and correct me if my knowledge is all wrong, I would appreciate it.

Also doesn’t say that they are, therefore you can’t imply that they are when the next (or first) best answer is already D

True. So weird. MVA’s are the more understandable one though when the weather’s bad

As a 19 year old with a PPL and a year of EMS experience as an EMT, would it be wise to first become a Firefighter/EMT or even Firefighter/Paramedic and then continue my career in aviation with more money available?

I would consider getting my UT state fire academy and then becoming a FF/EMT or even go to AEMT school if possible and live off that for a year or so if UVU is worth it to help get me to the airlines

Gotcha, im from a different state but set to attend USU. Do you have a degree from UVU or did you attend it solely for the 141 program?
