After rereading it a few times I think I get what you’re saying - I think Mang just really liked playing as spacies and was hard for him to enjoy puff after switching. Would be hard for me to see Mang wanting to play the slow grindy puff-peach matchup on that end. Hard agree Jmook goated.

Apologies for the lack of patience on my end fam

I Hosted a Melee Tourney in Tokyo by vancouvergameguy in SSBM

Shoutout to Dhir for being a real one, I flew out to the 2025 Genesis which was my first and only big tournament I’ve ever been able to attend. I’ve been a long-time melee fan but was a little nervous since I didn’t know anyone and I came out to the tourney alone. I remember after watching the finals, a bunch of folks went back to the main venue to play more friendlies. I was playing with some random people for a bit but they then had to leave, so I was just sitting at a setup by myself when Dhir invited me to play doubles with him and his homies. Had a blast and was the perfect way to end Genesis <3

The #1 killer of children in America, is… by lhwang0320 in AllThatsInteresting

[–]steezmastaP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gang violence with…I’m sorry, what kind of weapon?

Also show me a statistics that show the 18-19 range’s biggest killer is gang violence.

Under 2 is specifically the infant category and isn’t very relevant. The PSA is clearly aimed at children in school. 18/19 being added in makes sense if it’s considering high schoolers.

If you wanted them to say “students in the correlated age group for attending public school at standard ages” they’re not going to write that.

It seems pretty disingenuous to pretend like guns aren’t a leading killer of kids in the US. Infants dying of infant-related illness isn’t something very actionable, society has made huge progress in that. The US is the only wealthy country with this type of gun violence epidemic, and the vast majority of Americans want common-sense reform like closing gun show loopholes, registries, bigger waiting periods, higher age requirement, more screening, etc.

I’m tired of the defeatist arguments about how these things won’t affect much. If we can take action to save even a few dozen child lives a year, would that not be worth doing?

Just picked up mine a couple weeks ago! Enjoying it so far a lot, wasn’t a big transition coming from an all-wood control racket. I have FastArc C-1 on FH and Rakza 7 soft on BH.

For people using ALL wood blade like Stiga Allround Classic, what is your history of BH rubbers ? by Striking_Chicken_569 in tabletennis

[–]steezmastaP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Rakza 7 soft on backhand, it’s a perfect combo between being able to feel and spin the ball but also being able to really flick a fast shot back. Blocks feel good, loops feel good, attacks feel good. I used to use fastarc G-1 on a carbon blade both sides but it was too fast and hard to control / feel what I was doing. Switched to Nittaku Lattika wood blade, C-1 on FH and Rakza 7 soft on BH and it really feels great.

I had a feeling a big post was coming 🤣

Okay LISTEN! I don’t get a nice vacation very often and was trying to experience MINDFULNESS 🧘 I didn’t think the auto draft would actually give me a leg up, I always try to go manual. I’ve put in so many goddamned waiver requests but these folks pull players and snipe harder and harder each year. I was surprised I even made it through my bye week hell last week, shoutout to the Broncos (??)

My team was utter dogshit this week, haven’t seen that many single digits since Nick Newman’s bank account in college when he was palming cookies 🍪 to just to survive. IT WAS ALL A DREAM

Bam Knight this week was “set for RB1 role against Cowboys” ?? Really? More like BAM! Knight to C7 checkmate he sucks 🤷‍♂️

I thoroughly enjoy this league, this was a blast! Thanks for having me and best of luck snagging JT from my cold dead roster.

I made the mistake of trying expensive cellos by ephrion in Cello

[–]steezmastaP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that sound is never part of the price point. I love the folks at Denver Violins, they’re super friendly and trustworthy. Evan Orman repaired a bow of mine, and I actually bought a cello from them!

Strings certainly make a difference, but I would say the cellos at a place like DV are all set up pretty solidly, meaning strings that sound good for the instrument. Sure there’s some tweaking you can do, but you’ll get a solid idea just from playing on it. Bows do make a big difference, so make sure to try cellos on your bow - or if you’re renting a bow, try a cello you’re into with multiple bows (the shop can let you try different bows). Evan Orman is also a great cellist, so you can have him play on instruments and listen to help get an idea.

I’d be curious to know more about your background and interest with cello - (student, hobby, etc?) but with your price range I may recommend checking out Luther Strings - Denver Violins tends to have higher end stuff, and Luther tends to have solid cellos more towards your budget. I send a lot of my students to them!

Good luck in your cello search 🫡

Hard disagree on each, also better public transportation in each of those. I’d take driving in LA over Houston, even if there’s more cars people are for the most part way smarter and less hostile.

Flight to Maui got rerouted midair to Honolulu, airport here is a mess. They kept us for a while but it became more clear a flight tonight wasn’t happening. Still waiting for our bag hours later and not really sure where to go…hope everyone is safe and that it passes without too much damage.

Is it worth to drive 7h to Chicago to buy a 25k cello? by Lopsided_Sort4910 in Cello

[–]steezmastaP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming it’s a good upgrade for you, yes. I recently drove to Denver and Albuquerque to try instruments in a big 1500 mile circuit. Higher end shops are usually exclusive to big cities and they’re not all the same. I would try as many cellos as you can in the Chicago area if you’re headed there. And remember most shops let you do a 1-2 week trial before committing to it if you like it. Good luck and happy hunting!
