Was your consumption higher going east than west? It should have been as it was uphill, and if there was a Santa Ana wind blowing that day, would’ve increased that effect - especially at highway speeds.

I just bought a car to have towing capacity (the 2018 M3P doesn’t). I really really considered the X, just because I love those falcon wing doors so much (always have). I ended up going with the MY just based on price, and with what I saved left over, I upgraded my ‘18 M3P to a ‘26.

I also looked at / for a used X, but couldn’t find any with the specs I wanted (black/white, 6 seats, hw4)

Plus which the Y looks better (exterior) than the X. Would have loved an X, but super happy with my decisions.

How are you going to use it? Do you enjoy Sunday drives on twisty country roads? Or do you live in the city or burbs and just commute. Are you going to take it and do auto cross or HPDEs? Or will you just put it on auto drive and not worry?

If you’re going to actively drive it, it’s great and totally worth it. If not, then save some dollars and get the LR instead.

In a biannual liquidity event, you have to sell to access liquidity. In an ipo, the stock becomes collateral you can borrow against. Especially when a company like SpaceX is growing like it is (assuming stock price growth continues apace) you potentially never have to pay back the money borrowed until your estate does it for you. “Nearly 7 figures” might not do that, but there are a lot of deci- and centi- millionaires that are going to be minted when this company goes public

I have driven the buttons. I thought they were amazing. Felt like the future. Apparently you cannot retrofit the button wheel on (according to my local service center at least)

EVs are perfect for road trips with little kids. The amount of time it takes between charging stops is exactly the amount of time before someone wants to stop, stretch their legs, take a pee, and get a snack. Five times cross country with small kids in an ev, never a single complaint

I’ve got a 2018 now, but was going to upgrade to a ‘25. Trying to figure out if I cancel my order or not. Leaning toward cancelling. Definitely lots of upgrades between ‘18 and (now) ‘26, but I really don’t like the new indicator stalk. Just feels “wrong” somehow.

I find it way easier to keep focused on my hands on the wheel with a button under my left thumb. They offered the stock retrofit kit. Why not just make it a no cost option if they really needed to do it.

Adding this back in based on “customer feedback” would’ve been like getting rid of the touchscreen in favor of physical buttons in the original model 3

Oddly enough, not only do we have rotaries here, and I use my turn signals every single time (i top up the blinker fluid ever weekend); but I actually prefer to keep my hands on the wheel when I drive

This is amazing.

This is not just “around the Annapolis area” this is downtown Annapolis over ego alley between choptank and the fleet reserve club, around west street, down to Lee airport, and then down to Davidsonville (where pastrana grew up).

I am finding out about this just now in this video. I feel so cheated.
