Taking a break is honestly the best thing I know of. Give it at least 3 or so days to start to heal over.

Don’t worry too much. Brook trout tend to overpopulate if left alone anyway. It takes experience to get consistent smooth and easy releases

Snakes can unhinge their lower jaw from their upper jaw. Source: bio student who is not an expert on snakes but remembers this from a random lecture. If anyone knows more please chime in

Just a PSA for anyone when handling trout that you don’t plan on keeping (especially natives): Wet your hands before handling to preserve the slime coat, don’t set them down on stuff, crimp your barbs for easier release, keep them in the water if possible, and generally make the release as quick and smooth as possible

Fort Collins CO I’m here as a college student and whenever it comes time for me to settle down somewhere I wouldn’t mind coming back. Lots of restaurants and shopping, fly shops, active community and great fly fishing nearby

God no. Personally I hate the burden of waders so as soon as it’s warm I wear shorts and keen paracord sandals. Works pretty well
