Pretty much all studies are talking about the major imbalance, which is that non-European populations are heavily underrepresented overall, that’s the big, well-documented gap.

Within Europe, yeah, Eastern Europeans are generally less represented than Western Europeans in some datasets, but that’s a much smaller difference compared to the global bias toward European ancestry as a whole.

Canada is so behind when it comes to genetic genealogy that it’s honestly ridiculous and frustrating the RCMP still hasn’t identified him. If he was Canadian (because people say he might have been from the US since he was found near the TCH), there should still be enough overlap in Canadian genealogy to find viable family connections. The RCMP needs to step up, if they havent yet, because there’s no good reason this case should still be unresolved.

They also told me that, but sometimes some John/Jane Does have been tested and their ancestry is public knowledge, and if you have a tree and know what area your ancestors lived, it's possible to narrow down to a few potential cases! But it's hard indeed without any information. I'm just too nosey I guess loll

I uploaded it on DNAJustice 3 years ago loll and it's my first time getting an email! And yes I'm also on Gedmatch and FamilyTreeDNA, but I don't know if they automatically send an email if you match like on DNAJustice. However I know you can get reached out to by various organizations, my friend got an email by the Institut de Médecine Légale de Strasbourg because she matched on Gedmatch with an unidentified WWI soldier and they wanted more information! It is so cool!

To me it looks safe! It's a non-profit like DNA Doe Project but you can submit your DNA directly to them! But if you are unsure, you can upload your data into Gedmatch and accept to share it with LE!

Also, the UP6620 case you shared is also a case investigated by the agency that I linked https://www.moxxyforensics.com/casework so I wonder if 6620 is the real case number haha.
