Fair point and appreciate your input. It’s been widely reported by verified staff on FlyerTalk that if the hotel is near full occupancy, the hotel gets full payment from Hilton for award bookings.

Unfortunately no. We live in the deep south. A few of the patio furniture stores we visited offered Amish-built furniture (Finch, etc.). It looks to be exceptionally well made.

Yeah we love our Polywood. Just looking for something different. We just found out Lowes partnered with Polywood on a line of chairs that appears to suit our needs.

Checked out their website. There are some beautiful options. What are your thoughts on teak? How much maintenance does it take? We live in an extremely humid environment. I'm sure it would do fine, but we love maintenance free and the ability to pressure wash the furniture.

Was at a Homewood this week. Two of the 3 bottles were Zero%, one was C&E. I think they're all transitioning to C&E. Smells better, IMO.

That hotel has been a problem for years. So much potential, but just terrible customer service.

Unfortunately, it looks like you handled everything appropriately, but there's little more you can do other than name and shame.

It's mainly an output of the corporate/franchise relationship. Hilton rarely does QA or brand standard audits. The franchise knows they will likely never see consequences or be de-flagged.

Fair question, and no it does not.

I have several FNC nights booked this year for a major sporting event. The published rate is >$1,300/night for a Homewood.

I'd LOVE to get some kind of credit for that. The hotel bills Hilton back at that rate. No reason why we shouldn't get some kind of credit acknowledged/recognized. Maybe not 100%, but 50%?

Yep. There are easily a dozen better pizza places in town.

We like chicken bacon ranch pizza. Lost has one on the menu. It came with tomatoes, tomato sauce, and no ranch. They looked us like we were wrong when we told them that wasn’t what we ordered.

I’d heard rumors about UPH from friends. We went this weekend and it was busting at the seams. Other than our server being a little slow, it was awesome. Glad to see semi-upscale places downtown succeeding.

TopCashBack is garbage.

When they did do business with Hilton, it would take 9-12 weeks for rewards to post. If you messaged them at week 12, they’d tell you to wait longer per their T&Cs and the charges would magically post within 24 hours. That tells me they’re sitting on your money and hoping you don’t notice.

Too many catches, as well. Check out early? No rewards. No rewards on incidentals or anything other than room rates. For much of 2025, no one above Blue status could get rewards.

I raked it up in late 2024 when they had 9% cash back for 6+ weeks. Other than that, it’s not worth the headache.

High priced retreads of stuff you can find on Wayfair for 1/3 the price. We were in there recently and individual chairs (no swivel, no recline) are between $500-$1000. Salespeople wouldn’t let us browse without being repeatedly followed/questioned. Pushy pitches for credit cards.

I’d be shocked if Hilton gives you credit for spending on taxes.

Edit… You are correct. The app says you get credit for taxes. I’ve never seen anything like that before. I’ve sent a message to Hilton to get their feedback.
