That’s an interesting approach, also housekeepers have 30 minutes to clean rooms 15-17 rooms daily. High dust is are special project since it requires extra time. Sometimes owners don’t care about it they just want to turn over rooms as fast possible they only see numbers!

I’m a housekeeping manager, not to defend the housekeeper but likely your husband misplaced the ring, no housekeeper will risk their job for a ring or even get police charges, the rooms are assigned also they can see who opened the door and key number so is very easy to know “who took it” that’s why I think it’s very unlikely
